Please welcome our new Enrollment Counselor, Will Curtis! Prior to arriving at George Fox, he worked as a Career Coach for a nonprofit in Portland serving adults in recovery from substance abuse.
Will is taking over for Katie Baranowski who will transition to her new part-time role as Enrollment Counselor for Elementary Education on August 1. Adding to the excitement, Katie and her husband are expecting their second baby this winter!
Congratulations, Will and Katie, on these thrilling new chapters!
How did we celebrate the long-awaited demise of the heat dome? By heading out to the quad to join the GFU Wellness Bash, of course! It's been many days since we have dared emerge from the comfort and safety of our air conditioned cocoons so we seized the chance to gather outside and enjoy some healthy snacks together without risk of spontaneously combusting! Amusement provoking iced green tea and the impromptu adoption of several succulents may also have been involved.
Dr. Jennie Harrop announced exciting new opportunities through GFU Accelerated Degree Programs!

Big Congratulations to the freshly minted Mr. and Mrs. CJ and Piper Hilgaertner, and the whole Harrop family! Dr. Jenny Harrop officiated the wedding and, as her selfy clearly indicates, a lighthearted and joyful time was had by all!
Here's to the happy couple! 🎉
Big congratulations to our ADP Graduating Class of Spring 2024!
We are so proud of you!
Today, via a tiny, undiscernible square on the monitor shown here, we welcomed Dr. Jeff Cook, our new Program Director for the Psychology and Mental Health Studies major, to our final adjunct professors' meeting of the year. Much like the preceding very long sentence, a lot of information was covered in a short time. The company was stellar, and the lunch was delicious. Big thanks to all who were able to attend!
Dr. Jennie Harrop and her daughter Piper shared selfies taken in the gym before commencement and onstage. Piper graduated with a BA in Psychology and is the second Harrop kid to graduate from GFU. She also has just one more year to complete her MA in Leadership & Culture from Portland Seminary. Way to go, Piper!
Big Congratulations to the whole Harrop family!
Congratulations, Class of 2024!!👏👏👏
We had a wonderful time honoring our fall graduates with a banquet on Friday evening. Watch for more photos of our favorite commencement event! 🥳
Adjunct faculty Helena Hanson and Dr. Rae Casey joined faculty Aurae Beidler and Dr. Jennie Harrop for a lovely lunch at Kona Grill during a whirlwind trip to Meridian, Idaho! Zoom is great, but we love any opportunity to connect in person with our great instructors! 😄
Welcome to our Tuesday morning ADP Operations Team meeting! We gather weekly in the Margaret Lemmons house to support our students and each other. Sometimes there are muffins involved.

Meet Katie Baranowski, our ADP Enrollment Counselor!
Katie has been at George Fox and working with our Adult Degree students since May of 2018. Katie loves serving our population of students and being part of the George Fox community.
Outside of work, Katie loves her newer role as a Mama to her 21-month-old daughter, Brooklyn. She and her husband love to be active and take Brooklyn outside as often as possible. They also just recently returned from a vacation in Hawaii. They are looking forward to this summer and taking Brooklyn on more adventures to Sunriver and Seattle.
Meet Thelma and Louise!
We adopted these golden beauties into blissful retirement following their valued service to the Biology department. Despite their names, and their contributions to ni****ne and epinephrine exposure research, we find them to be remarkably friendly, responsive, and relaxed members of the ADP team. 😄

Meet Dr. Jennie Harrop!
In addition to her work as Associate Dean and an English professor, Dr. Harrop is lead pastor of Cedar Creek Church in Sherwood and is Project Faculty for Portland Seminary's Doctor of Leadership in Global Perspectives. She is also Chaplain of her local Boy Scout troop and has five teen / 20-something kids.

August found her in the Dominican Republic with the GFU women’s volleyball team, which includes her daughter Piper, the team’s libero.
Oxford, England, was September’s venue for Dr. Harrop’s adventures. She spent just over a week with her five Portland Seminary doctoral students soaking in the beauty of C. S. Lewis’ university and home.
In November, Dr. Harrop capped off 2023 with a trip to Lahore, Pakistan, where she toured a number of Presbyterian-founded private schools for girls that are changing gender dynamics in that part of the globe.
