More than half of jurisdictions have difficulty recruiting poll workers, a vital aspect of ensuring our elections run effectively, efficiently, and smoothly.
This Thursday, August 1, is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, a day of action established by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to inspire civic engagement and encourage people to sign up to support their communities.

This morning, MCC Executive Director, Jane Field, attended the New England United Methodist Conference Annual Conference in Danvers, MA where she accepted the 2024 Ecumenical Award on behalf of the Maine Council of Churches.
MCC extends its gratitude to Bishop Peggy A. Johnson for thinking of MCC for this award and for all she did in the immediate aftermath of the Lewiston tragedy.
