Raquel recently went on a research trip from Virginia to Florida! 🌊

She studied the food web of sandy shores, specifically following ghost crabs! 🦀

She helped with randomly sampling the distribution of ghost crabs prey which are mole crabs and donax clams. How cool!!

This leadership opportunity is generally an 8 month intensive fellowship — valuable to future nurses, physicians, physicians assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, as well as other future healthcare providers and anyone interested in gaining skills in public health while supporting healthcare systems around the world.

This pre-professional internship entails around 3-5 hours per week and is a truly enriching experience that will provide you with great skills for professional life such as learning about healthcare in a global context, gaining effective leadership and communication skills, acquiring international and public health work experience, and attending several orientations and workshops focussed on development and cultural sensitivity.

You will be matched with a new Life Sciences student in your same major and/or career path.
You will act as a guide and help answer questions or redirect students to help for class planning, major questions, volunteer opportunities, research, internships, and career planning. You can get volunteer credit and class credit at the same time!

Meet Eva! Eva is a senior double majoring in Biology and Environmental Science and is currently on a research study abroad trip in Vietnam. She grew up in Seattle but her family currently lives in Seoul Korea. Eva plans to continue in research after graduation to continue working with biodiversity and the environment!

Beginning following the Civil War, one of the first Memorial Day ceremonies was organized by formerly enslaved people. Today we honor and remember all those who have sacrificed their time, gifts, families, and lives for the freedom we cherish.

Meet Badí Quinteros! Badí is double
majoring in Genetics, Genomics, Biotechnology and
Bioinformatics. He's a junior from Cuenca, Ecuador
and we're so happy he's a part of our department!
Badí plans to go into genetic counseling or a PhD
program when he graduates.
