Our winter sports seasons are quickly winding down. We do have several teams participating in events this weekend. The boys and girls varsity basketball teams will be participating in the Patroon Conference Coaches vs Cancer Tournament at Columbia Greene Community College on Saturday(tomorrow-2/10). The girls play at 10am and the boys play at 1pm. Please the attached information for more details about admission and raffles available.

We have several wrestlers participating in the NYS Section 2 State Qualifying Tournament Saturday(tomorrow-2/10) at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls. Admission is $8.00. The Opening Ceremony starts at 9:30am.

As you probably already know, the budget has passed ! That is great news for the kids of the district! Thank you to everyone who took part in the voting process!

Today is the day to vote on the proposed budget. High school entrance from 12-9 pm. Come support the district on the path to stability for the future of our kids!

Thanks to all of the staff, teachers and administrators that took the time out to come to the community engagement meeting last week. Each principle discussed their protocols for student safety, and discipline outlines. PPS discussed DASA and how they evaluate situations to determine the best course of action. They all are thorough with tracking behaviors. The biggest take away from that night was this- COMMUNICATION IS KEY. If you have any concerns, please contact the school to discuss it. They need to know when there is a problem. Working together is how we create a better culture for the kids, and community as a whole.

Happy to provide an update. Thursday, there will be a special board meeting to gather community input on safety issues. I know people have reached out to me with concerns, and I did pass those concerns along. However , Thursday would be a great time for anyone that wishes to voice their concerns, opinions or ask questions to come do so. Problems can’t be solved if we don’t bring them to the table. So please come be involved. Be part of the solution. Be positive. Hope to see you there.

Please. Read the notice put out by the school today. This is a frightening situation all the way around. Keeping the children safe should be of the utmost importance to all of us. This could have taken a different turn, and there could have been serious injuries. Get well wishes to the staff who was injured, and glad all of our kids walked away. Thing of this nature can not happen . Please, talk to your kids. Practice kindness.

Registration for Little League will be closing soon. You can register and pay from the website. If you’re child is looking to get active, play some baseball and hav some fun this spring, this is a great organization to be involved in!
