The Racial and Ethnic Disparities Advisory Committee is rolling out a virtual Civic Engagement Training Program! The program is free and targeting BIPOC young adults and those from rural communities, ages 18-27. The program starts on March 22, 2022 and will be held for 4 straight weeks.

“Girls Lobby is a local nonpartisan nonprofit that teaches teenage girls (ages 14-19) how to get involved in government and their community. They teach a weekly in-person class at the Refugee Center from January to early March where girls will learn about the State Legislature and local government, hear from government officials and community advocates, and practice sharing their voices and opinions. Classes will be weekly on Saturdays from 1:00pm - 2:30pm at the Refugee Center, and will typically be split up into three parts: lesson lectures, group activities, and guest speakers.
