Hope they include spending some good proportion of that on bike paths that connect to stations and secure lock-ups for cyclists at those stations 🚉 .

Who’s on what side of the controversy and what’s their funding and motivation?
New group forms to fight Valencia Street bike lanes, but who are they?
SFMTA Votes to End the Valencia Center Bike Lane Experiment, But New Curbside Lanes Won’t Arrive Until 2025 After nearly a year of controversy, the SFMTA has decided to flip-flop the Valencia Street bike lane back to the old curbside design, but the new curbside bike lanes won’t be completed until January 2025 at the earliest.
Did you hear?! Caltrans is investing $930M over the next 4 years to improve bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. Look for 265 miles of new & improved bike lanes, and 1.3K safety elements like more visible & separated bike lanes, ADA-accessible curb ramps, better signage, and upgraded signalization. 🚶🧑🦯🚴

Have E-Bikes Made New York City a ‘Nightmare’? E-bikes zoom down streets, zigzag around cars and zip across sidewalks, changing the way some residents view the streets.

Paul Wells, D10 Rep here. We gave support to Safer 17th in our meetings, reporting back to the 11 Supervisors we serve on our committee in the City and County of San Francisco and credit to Peter Belden for winning approval. Congratulations to him for this recognition.🚲
Congrats to our 2024 Bike Champion of the Year, Peter Belden! 🎉
A longtime member and community advocate for biking, Peter dedicates his time to making SF a better place to bike, whether he's organizing a bike bus for students, or for protected bike lanes.
Why bikes? 👉 "It’s fun. It’s healthy. It’s better for the planet and you get to experience the city and see things you’d normally miss. [...] I took a SF Bike class on urban riding and went out to explore. I found that although there were some routes, particularly in SOMA, that felt safe, there were too many gaps in the bike network. I knew I wanted to help make a difference there. Now I bike for everyday transportation, but advocating for better biking infrastructure is an even bigger part of my life."

At our Monday December 11th meeting, the committee voted unanimously to sign a letter of support for better BART access and active transportation improvements to the central stretch of The Embarcadero. The 1989 Earthquake permanently closed the double decker freeway that dominated the waterfront. It’s eventual demolition freed the Ferry Building, opening the plaza to light again. This picture would not have been as festive!

Paul Wells, D10 Representative here. From Potrero Hill, I’m blessed to have a view across The Mission to Noe Valley, which is more like a plateau. This is what a “car free” city looked like. Happy New Year. We reconvene the 4th Monday in January. May we see progress in Public Safety and closer to the vision zero goal on fatal injuries to those who share the streets and roads.

Paul Wells, SFBAC D10 Rep here. Good to see a start date. The North end of this area connects through “The Hairball” intersection of Bayshore/Chavez/the southern end of Potrero Ave and the maze of ramps that is the 101 Interchange. Paul Wells, D10 Rep here. My opinion, but Anchor STEAM is in my district. Our City. If we don’t work to stave off greedy destruction of local businesses and institutions, we won’t have anywhere working bicycling or walking to in the future.
