This experiential simulation assigns students an imaginary career and family that students then use their imaginary salary to purchase housing, transportation, food, insurance, and other monthly expenses.
This program is offered to the students taking LEAP-Career Exploration this semester – over 400 of them are taking the course this semester at SMS! So we need the community’s help to make it happen! Volunteers will sign up for approximately 2-hour time blocks that correspond to the block schedule.
If your student is taking LEAP this semester, we highly encourage parents and families to volunteer during their student’s block period. It’s a great lesson to experience with your students.
SMS families! To accommodate the solar eclipse school schedule, we have had to reschedule living on our own. If you are available for our new date on Monday April 8th (or April 9th), we could really use your help. And you will have fun! We promise 😁
