2024 SHS SHORE CRAFT FAIR

Save the date to see all your favorite local artisans!

SHORE is proud to support this awesome new tradition at Scituate High School! Credit for Life helps students explore careers and build skills for life. Junior students participate in a series of advisory lessons each fall, learning about credit and choosing a future career path. On October 23rd, this prep culminates in a one-day "financial literacy" event called Credit for Life. Students will arrive at the fair with a net monthly income for their chosen field, then visit a variety of boths to manage their personal budget.

One student recently described her experience in this way: “The credit for life” fair was the most beneficial learning experience so far in my high school career! Being able to talk to real professionals and have them give us advice was very interesting. It taught us real life, valuable lessons and gave us an exciting glimpse into the future!”

Please consider helping out at any one of the booths - from insurance, to groceries, to savings and retirement - from 9:30-11:45am on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Your personal experience is more than enough! A zoom session will be offered next week to review volunteer roles, and all materials will be provided.

We are in need of caregiver/community volunteers to staff the various stations (food, gym, housing, etc.) that students will visit to record expenses on their Personal Budget worksheet. No experience is needed (just lived experience of paying bills!) All materials will be provided - as well as a zoom prep session and video.
