Welcome to the new academic year!
Our first music history meeting of the year is this Friday (Oct. 6), at 1:30pm in the Fishbowl (Music Building Room 101) and on Zoom.
Our topic will be "Attending Academic Talks and Conferences." We'll go over strategies of how to listen, how to ask questions, and how to navigate conference programs and different styles of presentation.

Join us at 7pm this evening in Brechemin Auditorium for a talk by one of our own: Peter Nicolas will be giving a presentation titled "Harmonizing Music and Law."
In this lecture, Nicolas identifies the various ways in which an understanding of music theory and music history can contribute to well-reasoned intellectual property law policies and a sound resolution of intellectual property disputes involving music.
