"This image is part of a portfolio that I have been working on for several years in a fishing village in Guerrero, Mexico. I have been attending the ritual for several years when the fishermen arrive early in the morning with the catch they obtained during the night. This image expresses the energy of the birds as they receive their first meal of the day."

Snow Sports History Saturday: Mining and skiing have a deep and intertwined history here in Park City. For example, the Silver Star Mine at Park City has a history beyond mining. In 1964 and 1965 it became known as the "Skier Subway". Skiers would enter the mine, at the base of the hill where they would get in specially modified train cars that would take them three miles into the mine where an elevator would bring them to the surface and they would ski down. The tunnel was also used as a tourist attraction during the early 1970's, much in the same way as the now-defunct Park City Silver Mine Adventure. This image is from the J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah and is used with their permission.

Science is validating what gardeners have known for hundreds of years. One of the largest studies to date on gardens and gardening, by the National Institute for Health Research, found that the benefits of gardening were similar to the difference in health between the wealthiest people and the poorest people in the country. It reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, promotes feelings of mastery, accomplishment and competence, higher levels of self-efficacy, self-esteem, and psychological well-being. Here, garden designer Lottie Delamain explores the links between gardening and our mental well-being, and how the natural world can be a refuge: https://www.houseandgarden.co.uk/article/gardening-for-mental-health

Michelangelo's Statue of David, created between 1501 and 1504, is known for its remarkable details, particularly in the right hand.

This iconic statue was carved from a single 6-ton slab of marble that had been discarded by two other sculptors due to flaws. The marble lay exposed to the elements for 26 years before a 26-year-old Michelangelo was awarded the contract.
