November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor the vibrant cultures and history of Indigenous peoples. Here in Spokane, we pay tribute to the Spokane Tribe, whose presence in this region dates back thousands of years. For countless generations, the Spokane people have regarded this area as their ancestral home, establishing their communities along the banks of the Spokane River. Their heritage is a dynamic and integral aspect of Spokane’s past and present. Let's take this month to connect with and celebrate the traditions, wisdom, and remarkable resilience of the Spokane Tribe and Native American communities.
