This heatwave has been extremely difficult for our seniors. Older adults are at an elevated risk for heat-related illnesses, even when the temperature isn't very high. The fans we are delivering help keep senior homes cooler and circulate the air, reducing their chance of heat stroke. As temperatures rise, it's more important than ever to stay cool and hydrated. Here are some tips to help you beat the heat:
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Aim for 90 - 135 ounces (6-8 water bottles), depending on your age and gender.
Add flavor to your water with cucumbers, lemon, mint, or strawberries.
- Avoid using your oven or stovetop. Instead, opt for cooler meals like salads and sandwiches.

Special thank you to Zips Drive-in 🍔🍟🧋 for allowing us to take over their parking lot, Davenport Hotel Collection & Golden Rule Brake for contributing some amazing raffle prizes, and finally all of the folks with classic cars who registered their vehicles to support our cause to feed homebound seniors in Spokane County.

💰We made over $1600, which provides 320 local seniors a warm delivered meal! Thank you so much everyone!
