Jolene has been working in the nonprofit sector for nearly 20 years. She began her career in a part-time, temporary role, where she quickly became deeply connected to the mission and the needs of a particular group of people who captured her heart. This connection sparked a lifelong passion for giving back to her community through meaningful work.

As the Past President of INDC, Jolene's leadership and commitment have played a significant role in supporting local nonprofits and fostering community development. Her dedication to the nonprofit sector continues to inspire and guide her work in making a positive impact.

We are excited to announce Chrystal Ortega as this year's President Elect of the Inland Northwest Development Council (INDC)!

Chrystal is the Executive Director of Feed Spokane, an amazing organization dedicated to eliminating food waste and supporting food pantries. Last year, Feed Spokane rescued ONE MILLION meals, redistributing them to local food pantries and meal sites. They are on track to achieve this again in 2024, thanks to their incredible volunteers.

Chrystal transitioned from military service to the nonprofit sector in 2016. Her passion for nonprofit work was nurtured by her experience with Leadership Spokane, where she remains an active alumni member. She believes in the power of networking and partnerships that INDC fosters in our community.

Skyler J. Reep, CFRE (he/him), is the Director of Development at KSPS PBS, raising $6M annually. With a background in marketing and membership fundraising, Skyler has served on multiple PBS working groups and councils and has presented at key industry events.

His expertise in marketing and revenue management helps him detect trends and adapt fundraising strategies effectively. Skyler is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and is finishing his Master's in Nonprofit Administration. The federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently published revisions to rules governing federal grantmaking to nonprofits that will go into effect on October 1, 2024. The goal is to make the process of nonprofits receiving federal funding easier and more straightforward to manage.
