This week, as we approach ADM Ben Moreell's birthday on September 14, we’re celebrating his incredible legacy as the founder of the Seabees and a shaper of the modern Civil Engineer Corps. Known as the "Father of the Seabees," ADM Moreell's vision and leadership during World War II were instrumental in creating the "Can Do!" spirit that defines the Seabees to this day.

Today, we’re highlighting the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum, one of 10 museums under the Naval History & Heritage Command. Located at Naval Base Ventura County, the museum recently opened a new exhibit, "Victory Builders: The 80th Anniversary of the Seabees' Role in Winning WWII." Explore Seabee history, experience a WWII Liberty Ship diorama, and test your skills on the interactive U.S.S. Neversail! Admission is free and open to all, Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. 🛠️⚓

Congratulations to Command Master Chief Jerry on his selection as the winner of the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Delbert D. Black Leadership Award! 🎉🎊

This award is presented to recognize a first-tour Command Master Chief, Chief of the Boat, or Command Senior Chief who exhibits this same ideal of service with sacrifice as demonstrated by MCPON Delbert D. Black.

Our Seabee Breakfast was quite a special moment as I was able to present a Certificate of Honor on behalf of the Navy Seabee Foundation to Shippfitter 3/C Tom Cooper, for his 100th birthday. He was in the 121st Naval Construction Battalion embedded with the 4th Marine Division 1943-1946 at Tinian, Saipan, and the Marshall Islands. Much respect!

🛠️ **Heritage Monday Highlight** 🛠️

This week, we honor the NSVA Seabee Monument located at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. Dedicated in 1989 through the tireless efforts of NSVA Island X-13 Pensacola, this monument stands as a proud testament to the legacy and sacrifices of the Seabees. 🇺🇸

Thank you to the "CAN DO" crew from Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering, Civil Engineer Corps Officers School. and NCTC Port Hueneme who volunteered their time at the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum to beautify the museum's exterior. Active duty staff, students and family members pulled weeds, cleaned up the bricks, trimmed bushes and picked up trash around the museum grounds. BZ to a job WELL DONE!

in Seabee History - 17 August 1969 - Hurricane Camille brought havoc and grief to the residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In her pass across the Gulf Coast she destroyed or damaged 30,000 homes and hundreds of business, civic, and religious structures; severed communications; knocked out water, power and sewer service. At the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, 29 buildings were destroyed and more than 90 percent of the structures received some damage.
