Field Appraiser:
The Payne County Assessor’s office is currently taking applications for the position of Field Appraiser.
The successful applicant will be required to: Obtain and analyze data for the purpose of appraising property, calculating areas and make scale drawings of building floor plans, interview property owners and others to gather data affecting value, inspect, measure, and describe various types of property, learn proper application of property tax laws, regulations, and policies to appraisal assignments; estimate appropriate classifications for structures according to published criteria, collect and review sales and rental information. Apply value conclusions, maintain files and records of valuation, explain valuation methods to taxpayers, and operate a computer terminal and an iPad using commercial and internal software systems.
Preferred experience and qualifications:
Customer service skills are a must. Some general knowledge of the principals involved in construction, real estate, or property appraisals. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to take and pass classes to apply the techniques, methods, and the principles of real estate and business property appraisal as required by the State of Oklahoma to be accredited. Applicants must be able to work outside and walk for extended periods of time and lift 50 pounds.

Salary: 30k - 40k yearly, depending on experience
Work hours: M-F 8am-5pm, 40 hrs/wk
