Transportation and Mobility Challenges Survey - Prize Drawing Included
Pierce County Human Services, in collaboration with special needs transportation partners from King and Snohomish counties, are conducting a survey throughout August to understand the transportation and mobility challenges among residents in our communities.
The information will be used to help inform advocacy, work plans, and services to improve transportation options for special needs communities in Pierce County. All respondents will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $50 online VISA gift card.

Our summer meals program is in full swing! Free breakfasts and lunches are available at no charge to children 18 years of age and younger.
Breakfast (7:30 - 8:15 a.m.) and lunch (11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) will be provided at the following open sites, Monday through Friday, through August 2nd:

We are thrilled to announce that we have achieved our ambitious goal of reaching 100 clients per Center for Strong Families at both the Sumner-Bonney Lake and Bethel locations! Hilltop is also close behind, with an impressive 85 clients. We wholeheartedly applaud the dedication and hard work of our clients and staff, as well as the invaluable support from our referral partners for Financial and Employment Coaching.
Opening the Sumner-Bonney Lake location in 2021 amidst numerous Covid restrictions was no easy feat, but Sound Outreach is overjoyed to witness our clients' remarkable engagement and progress in building financial stability. Here's to celebrating this significant milestone and looking forward to even greater achievements ahead!

Free Bus Rides to Cooling Centers Through Jul 9th (may be extended)
To help those who need access to transportation to get out of the heat, Pierce Transit is partnering with the Pierce County Department of Emergency Management to provide free bus or SHUTTLE rides (for registered SHUTTLE customers) to cooling centers and shelters.
The free round trips are available throughout the day and evening for passengers who tell the driver they are traveling to or from a cooling center or shelter. For cooling center locations and tips to stay safe during a heat event, follow this link: https://buff.ly/3xFjt35.
