This entry can be dropped off to the HAC Office (located at 1116 Earnest S Brazill St, Tacoma, WA) or shared with our team by emailing [email protected] with the attachments. The first day of school is around the corner, and we are so excited to see our students.

Schedule for the first day:
🍎 Grades 1-12: Monday, Sept. 9
🍏 Kindergarten & TTK: Thursday, Sept. 12
🍎 Head Start, ECEAP & Peer Inclusion Preschool: Monday, Sept. 16

All schools begin one hour later on Wednesday mornings except when noted otherwise. Check your school's calendar and bell schedule for more details. The first late start day is Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Bryant Montessori was built in 1960. Check the link in the initial post for construction updates. The school will be ready for students, staff, and families just in time for the first day on September 9th.

50+ Bake Off Social! Bring your favorite baked item to enter in the Bake Off contest at People's Community Center. Meet new friends, share recipes, and decorate a cupcake to take home. This program is free for members; Registration is encouraged.

Communities in Schools is asking for your help! They need supplies to stuff 2,000 more backpacks so all TPS students have what they need for the first day of school.

Please check out the donation list in the initial post.

If you can donate, please bring supplies to Oakland High School (3702 McKinley Ave E) between 9AM to 2PM on any weekday through Monday, August 26th.

Donations are also welcome. Text "school supplies" to 26989 to give.

-Spiral notebooks and loose leaf paper with college ruling
-Highlighters and colored pencils
-1-inch binders and binder dividers

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS NEED:
-Spiral notebooks with wide ruling
-Composition books with wide ruling
-Scissors
-Small bottles of glue
-Markers
-Two-pocket folders

If you can donate, please bring supplies to Oakland High School at 3702 McKinley Ave E., between 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on any weekday through Monday, Aug. 26.

Mi Centro is hosting an art contest with the theme "Where I am From" / "Home." Artist ages 6 years old and up can showcase their story, community, or different intersectional parts of their family's story and identity. Winners will recieve a gift card ranging between $75-$500. Registration deadline is 8/16 and drop off dates are 8/21 and 8/22 to display your art piece(s) by the 9th Annual Hilltop Street Fair.
