Every wrinkle tells a story. Behind those lines should never lie tales of abuse or neglect. Our elders deserve to be honored, respected, and cherished in their golden years. Yet, far too often, they suffer in silence. It's time to speak up, stand together, and protect our seniors!

Hello, Spring!๐ธ
As the days grow longer and temperatures rise, it's the perfect time to enjoy the beauty of blooming flowers. Let's also remember to stay safe while traveling or visiting loved ones. Here are some essential safety tips to keep in mind.
We've said it before, and we'll say it again: domestic violence knows no boundaries of race, gender, s*xual orientation, physical ability, or neurodiversity. Breaking the stigma around sharing our experiences means recognizing that it can affect anyone, anywhere, at any time.
Boundaries can be challenging to uphold, especially with loved ones. It's crucial to recognize that our boundaries are legitimate, our emotions are valid, and we have the right to create distance from behaviors, activities, or individuals that don't support our well-being.
Racial discrimination persists in our society, and it's a harsh reality, not an opinion. It's time to acknowledge these facts and take meaningful action to dismantle systemic injustices. Recognizing these issues is the first step toward creating real change.
Happy Developmental Disability Month! It is important to Our Sister's House that we highlight the disproportionate numbers of domestic abuse against those with disabilities, so that we as a community can work together to prevent it.
Spring is almost here! Don't forget to spring forward and set your clocks one hour ahead this Sunday as we welcome longer days and warmer weather!
Silent wounds, loud impact: Let's break the silence on adult bullying. No one should suffer alone. Bullying isn't just a childhood issue; it persists into adulthood more than we'd like to acknowledge. Treat others as you wish to be treated, and consider the impact of your actions on others.
Culturally specific care aims to promote understanding and empathy by considering the cultural context in which individuals live and how culture influences their experiences, preferences, and needs. At Our Sisters House, we are happy to be able to provide culturally specific care to those within our community.
Happy Women's History Month.
The first Women's History Day was held in 1909. The day became Women's History Week in 1978. In 1987, it became Women's History Month. This year's theme is women who advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Who is an inspiring woman from past or present that inspires you most? Let's celebrate them this month and every month!
