On Tuesday September 27, 2022 the community suffered a tremendous loss with the untimely death of Ryan J. Gagliardi. Ryan was a remarkable young man and is sorely missed by his family, friends and community.

Ryan was a graduate of the Colonie EMS EMT program, worked as an EMT for Malta-Stillwater EMS and was a 7-year veteran of the Fuller Road Fire Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant.

The Fuller Road Fire Department has initiated the Lieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be offered to Town of Colonie high school seniors who are currently involved in Emergency Services and intend to continue their education in the public safety field.

Please consider helping us raise funds for the Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship organized by Fuller Road Volunteer Fire Department.

For the month of May, our crews will be wearing shirts to support mental health awareness and proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go directly to the scholarship.

We cannot believe it is that time of year again. We have begun preparations for our annual Memorial Day Parade. If you, or if you know of any organization who would want to march in our parade, please reach out to us or to one of our members. The parade is Friday May 24th, beginning at 630 PM. More details to follow, but again please reach out if anyone has an organization, group, club or association who wants to march!

It is with great honor and pleasure as we welcome home SPC Zac Rentz as he officially “Turned Blue” with the United States Army. Zac was also awarded the “Soldier of the Cycle” award. This prestigious award is given to the soldier in his company who had a high average on all disciplines, was voted by his instructors and his fellow soldiers. Out of the 140 in his company, he was selected as the recipient! Zac is a graduate of La Salle Institute and of Siena College. He is also a member of our department, which has had a long tradition of firefighters who have served in the different branches of our armed forces. We are the “Land of the Free” because of the selfless service and sacrifice of people like Zac. Please help us as we welcome home SPC Zac Rentz! The entire department and community is proud and grateful for you!

Students, wait for the school bus in a safe spot, stand back from the road, and board carefully.

Drivers, be extra cautious around school zones, obey speed limits, and watch out for children.

🚦🛑Always stop when the bus's stop sign is out and the red lights are flashing. It means stop is BOTH directions of traffic. Give students enough space to board or get off the bus safely.

It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of past chief and past board of director Glen Roberts Sr. Glen was a veteran of the United States Army as a MP. He has been a long time Maplewood resident and retired from the Town of Colonie. He was battling ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He has been a member since the early 1980’s and did so much for our department. Thank you for your sacrifice and service to this country and community.
