Today, we kicked off our September Food Drive, with our food barrels placed at over 45 locations throughout the month. Thank you to all the businesses, nonprofits, schools, churches, and everyone else who is joining us in collecting food to support those in need.

We got some great help today from the folks at G3 Solar! They helped us moved coats from storage to our gym that will be prepped for coat distribution this October.

We are excited to announce that ticket sales are open to the public for our Community Leadership Breakfast on September 5th at 7:00 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Wichita. Tickets are limited and expected to sell quickly. This year's event features guest speakers Bill Self, Kansas University Men's Basketball Coach, and R.C. Buford, CEO of the San Antonio Spurs.

What a great way to start off the day with a visit from Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. and Meritrust Credit Union who delivered schools supplies and a check donation of $30,000! These supplies will be delivered to the local schools here in Wichita.

We concluded another great Lunch and Learn this afternoon at our area command. Everyone gained some insight on our history in Wichita, our various programs and services we offer, and ways to get involved with The Salvation Army.

Thank you to all of the guest for coming. We will have more Lunch and Learn events coming next year.

Look what we got to pick from our Urban Farm! Some butternut squash and an a egg plant. These will be used in our Recovery Home to teach clients valuable culinary skills.

The 2024 Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. Tools For School Annual Car Show today was a success! This event helps The Salvation Army provide Wichita schools with classroom tools needed for students to thrive in the upcoming school year.

Thank you to all of the employees who stopped by to win prizes and thank you Spirit AeroSystems for your continues partnership and support of The Salvation Army!

This evening, The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Team was in Sedgwick, KS this evening. We provided Chick-fil-A sandwiches, chips, snacks, water, and Gatorade to the first responders and city crew. We pray for a their safety and everyone affected by the weather.

During the month of July, The Wichita Fire Department collected Boot Block donations for The Salvation Army at the Walmart's, Dillions, and malls here in Wichita. This summer, they raised $25,921.96 to support The Salvation Army's programs and services in our community.

Thank you to all of the firefighters for your hard work during this campaign and all that you do on a daily basis to help those in need! We are looking forward to this campaign again in November.

Today, we attended the Cox Tailgate Charity Event and had the chance to speak with several Cox employees about the 2024 Cox Charities Community Investment Grant we received from Cox Communications. We also were able to speak with them about the programs and service we provide to the community.

Thank you to Cox and its employees for selecting us for this grant and being such an amazing community partner!

Today, Club Pathway families enjoyed our Back to School Bash, where they received an assortment of items to help them prepare for the upcoming school year. They received snacks, meals, prizes from games like Cakewalk and Bingo, backpacks for school, and other accessories.

Club Pathway hosts events like this once a month for families in the program. These events and the services we provide help families with budgeting and achieving their goals, such as learning a trade, obtaining a GED, or pursuing higher education.
