Day 2 of Mindfulness Camp for kids ages 10-12. We are so excited to have these kids with us this week! Would you join us in praying for these kids today?
New headshots for our team!! 🙌
We would love your opinion. Which chart would you prefer in an adult therapy room? Thanks!
If someone from 1990 suddenly woke up in 2024, what would surprise
them the most?
We see you! To all the women who feel the grief, sadness, disappointment and/or anger today as they wake to mother's Day, we see you. You are not alone. It's okay to let yourself admit the pain and longing. And it's okay to have mixed feelings about today. For some it's all grief for others it's joy and grief. Wherever you find your heart today know you are valued and your experience matters. You matter. ❤️
Happy Mother's Day! We see you!! Today is all about you! We know the joys and pains of motherhood. The joy of watching your kids sleep 😉, seeing them accomplish small and great things, hearing them laugh, and watching them find their passions! The pains of lack of sleep, worry, remembering ALL the things, watching them go through heartache and friendship pains. We are celebrating you today! And we hope you are doing something you love today and know you are loved, appreciated and seen!!
There are still a couple more spots available for the Mindfulness-Based Summer Camp for Kids! 💫💫💫 One of my favorite things about this camp is the parent component at the end of each day where a child and parent or caregiver get to participate in a mindfulness activity together! 🤩🤩🤩
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 3, which prohibits children under the age of 14 from becoming social media account holders and allows 14- and 15-year-olds to become account holders with parental consent.
“Social media harms children in a variety of ways,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “HB 3 gives parents a greater ability to protect their children. Thank you to Speaker Renner for delivering this landmark legislation.”
“The internet has become a dark alley for our children where predators target them and dangerous social media leads to higher rates of depression, self-harm, and even suicide,” said House Speaker Paul Renner. “I am proud of the work of all our bill sponsors, Representatives Tyler Sirois, Fiona McFarland, Michele Rayner, Chase Tramont, and Toby Overdorf for delivering a legislative framework that prioritizes keeping our children safe. Thanks to Governor DeSantis’ signature, Florida leads the way in protecting children online as states across the country fight to address these dangers.”
Specifically, this bill:
Prevents a minor who is younger than 14 years of age from becoming a social media account holder.
Empowers parents to decide whether 14- and 15-year-olds can have a social media account.
Protects the ability of Floridians to remain anonymous online.
In addition to protecting children from the dangers of social media, HB 3 requires pornographic or sexually explicit websites to use age verification to prevent minors from accessing sites that are inappropriate for children.
If you can attend this and you have children or teens in your life in any manner (parent, grandparent, step-parent, aunt, uncle, teacher etc….) this is a fantastic price for these amazing wise leaders in their field AND 2 meals!! Plus the money goes to help local kids get counseling scholarships at Open Doors Counseling Center and other like centers!

Show us your eclipse photos! If you didn't know you can take photos through your eclipse glasses! Ask your kiddos.... What character is the blue mask?.
Have fun enjoying the solar eclipse today! The first two photos are from the solar eclipse in 2017. One of the coolest things was seeing the shadow of the eclipse through our tree onto the sidewalk. We also made these really fun paper plate shields to go with our eclipse glasses. Check out the links below, one to see the different levels of solar eclipse across the country based off of zip code and city and the second the directions for making the paper plate shield.

Happy Easter! This flower is also know as the resurrection flower! Every year they bloom within a few days of Easter without fail! May your heart be blessed this Easter as you celebrate the One who gave up his life for you and desires a personal relationship with you. He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!!
Does your child struggle with someone being mean vs. someone setting boundaries? Having different scenarios to go through with them can help. For example:
1. Someone asks you to stop making a loud noise.
2. Someone hits you.
3. Someone says “I want some time alone right now.”
4. Someone says they are playing with someone else on the playground today.
You can tailor the questions to specific situations that have happened with your child, and to make it fun, you can go through them while playing a game like Jenga.
Hope this helps! - Ashlen Moss, LMHC

Hello all! Counselor Lyndsey Stubenbort, LMHC here. When we think of February we think of my birthday!!!! 🎂🎉 😉 ha ha, just kidding, we think of Valentines Day and the love or disdain we may have for the so called “holiday”. No matter how you feel about the consumerism surrounding February 14th, the truth remains that at our core we all have a desire to be loved and to KNOW that we are loved.
So here is a little challenge for you- starting tomorrow 2/1/24 until Valentines Day, I encourage you to write 1 thing per day that you love about your child (or even your spouse) and then post it to their bedroom door or bathroom mirror. At the end of the 2 weeks they will have 14 things that you love and admire or appreciate about them to fill their heart (or “love tanks”) up.
With all the hard things our kids (or spouses) can face in a day and all the yuckiness that life this side of Heaven brings, here is a simple but impactful way that you can love your people well. Simply cut a heart shape out of any paper, buy a pack of doilies or even use a post it note or whatever you have lying around. Then write one thing you love each day. Don’t stress, just do it!!
This will mean a lot especially to those whose “love language” is “words of affirmation”, but even your grumpy teens will feel and appreciate this love (whether they tell you or not).
God tells us to “Love one another as I have loved you.” So shout it from the rooftops (or tape it to their door- 😉) but whatever you do, don’t let this occasion pass you by!!
What happens when you get a group of therapists that work with kids together to do a mystery party?? Lots of amazing acting, creativity and genuine silliness!!!! A few weeks ago we had our annual holiday party for Open Doors Counseling Center. We laughed so much, we ate too much and we stepped fully into our roles for our mystery dinner party! We hope your are finding ways to play and have have fun in 2024!

Ryan has new hours available! Give us a call to get on his schedule!
Ryan believes that an abundant life is found when we are able to courageously live out of our truest self. However, suffering is an inevitable experience in the journey of life that often comes at the unfortunate cost of sacrificing who we truly are. While this sacrifice helps us survive our pain, the cost can leave us feeling lost and unsure of who we are and how to keep moving forward. It is here that Ryan found himself at the beginning of his own counseling journey. Now, he seeks to sit with clients in their respective tensions, help them understand the sacrifices they have made, and move forward with hope and wonder towards living in congruence with who they were made to be.
Because everyone faces this tension at some point, Ryan enjoys working with anyone who is ready to heal. He utilizes an integrative, client-centered approach to counseling that focuses on exploring a client’s story, their most formative relationships, and the emotional cycles they find themselves stuck in. He has a particular passion for working with young adults as they encounter the challenges of this new stage of life. Additionally, Ryan seeks to help clients from all backgrounds in a variety of areas including depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, spiritual struggles, sexual addiction, couples counseling, career counseling, and DBT skills coaching.
