Reg Ballantyne '65 couldn't image what his path in life would have been without the Holy Cross experience.
"I have always been appreciative of the first-rate education," he shared.
"But Iโm also proud and grateful to have been part of a community dedicated to the idea that each individual is responsible for making the world a better place โ a community devoted to instilling courage and compassion in every student."

Alumni ๐ค Josh Azor โ24
Joshโs Holy Cross experience boils down to one word: Community
And central to that community is Ciampi Hall, the former Jesuit residence that is now an intentional wellness living space for students.
โI have seen the unique cultures that each residential dorm on campus cultivates. With Ciampi emphasizing holistic wellness, I knew that this space aligned with how I wanted to live out my senior year and the kind of impact I strived to leave behind.โ
Central to Joshโs experience was Bible Study that he co-lead with Haley Pottle โ26, held in Ciampiโs Multi Faith Room. โIt was not a surprise for up to 35 students to show up to learn more about Jesus,โ Josh shared.
Led by faith and friendship, Josh built community at Holy Cross by serving as the Student Government Co-President and traveling to Rome during Maymester with his peers. With his newly-minted HC degree, Josh is now working at a local skilled nursing home and as a personal trainer.
Letโs welcome Josh โ and all our 2024 grads โ into our alumni community! ๐

It was far from the usual first year experience when Mary Cate Pawlus โ24 and her classmates started at Holy Cross in the fall of 2020.
With campus closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mary Cate and a few classmates rented a house on the Cape for the first few weeks of classes and immediately bonded. For Mary Cate, it โprovided a community during the difficult remote semester.โ
Friendships grew and flourished when the crew finally arrived on campus. By senior year, many of these women were living together on College Street โ in a house that two of Mary Cateโs cousins lived in when they were Crusaders.
โThe friendships I have today with these talented women are very special to me. Not only do these women support me, but they also inspire me with their accomplishments and drive. We uplifted each other, celebrated each otherโs successes, and had a blast throughout our journey at Holy Cross.โ

When Julie Halpin Anderson '84 started working in advertising after Holy Cross, she worried that she had "sold out" on the mission of men and women for others.
That all shifted, however, when she realized what business she was actually in.
In this episode of CrossTalks from the Holy Cross Business Office, Julie explores what can happen when we go beyond easy answers.
