The United States and AWIEF are thrilled once again to launch the 2024 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs in Lesotho, Eswatini, and South Africa (AWE LESA).

This initiative aims to promote economic prosperity and provide equitable development opportunities for historically disadvantaged groups and individuals. By empowering young women entrepreneurs through world-class training and mentorship, AWE LESA advances gender equity and economic prosperity in Southern Africa.

Apply to join AWE LESA 2024, taking place between August 2024 and January 2025, which will empower 100 young women entrepreneurs from Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Polokwane, Maseru, Manzini, and Pietermaritzburg.

The pop-up market will occur as part of the # # International Astronomical Union (IAU) General Assembly 2024 conference at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) - August 6 to August 15, 2024. The conference is expected to have 1500+ attendees, most of whom will be international visitors looking to engage in South African culture and souvenir shopping. The market will offer an exceptional platform for local makers, vendors, and crafters to showcase and sell their goods to conference attendees.

Your responsibilities will include: Developing creative and engaging content for the marketing and promotion of CDI’s Market Development Programme activities I Manage the distribution of content on all social media platforms for the Market Development Programme I Provide content development support for

Having started her career working with social enterprises on waste-from-landfill initiatives in Vietnam, Tashma has, since returning to SA, worked with several organisations and consultants in the sustainability space, assisting with communications and research.

The CDI is a non-profit company with 19 years of success in developing creative people, SMEs and the craft and design sector at large in South Africa.

The CDI is a catalytic agent of change in the sector, and passionate about developing appropriately skilled, resourced and digitally proficient practitioners who can successfully leverage opportunities for growth and development.

The more than 5600 small business and individuals supported by the CDI range from start-ups to exporting enterprises, and are based all over South Africa – from rural towns to urban centres. CDI’s services help these businesses develop the right product/service for the right market using appropriate business and production systems; and links them into ever-expanding national and international networks of market opportunities to help them grow.
