๐ŸŒ Africa Textile Talks 2024: A Journey Towards a Sustainable Future ๐ŸŒฟ

Our Remake team, including some of our talented seamstresses, had the incredible opportunity to attend the Africa Textile Talks 2024 in Cape Town, hosted by Twyg & Imiloa Collective. The multi-day event, held from 15โ€“17 August at the V&A Waterfront, brought together growers, makers, processors, designers, and textile enthusiasts from across South Africa and beyond.

The event was a deep dive into the future of the fashion and textile industry, focusing on sustainable and regenerative practices that align with nature. We were inspired by insightful talks, presentations, exhibits, and demonstrations that highlighted the importance of a kinder, fairer industry that better benefits our planet.

TCB Co-founder, Tracey Gilmore and Remake Programmeโ€™s Technical Trainer and designer, Sethu Mchithakali, was also there to pick up ideas and practices that we could potentially bring into TCB, helping us continue empowering women while driving positive change in our communities and the environment.

Happy Women's Day from TCB! ๐ŸŒธ

Today, we celebrate the incredible power and resilience of women. At TCB, we believe there is no greater power than women who lift each other up. Together, we are unstoppable. ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

Our holistic enterprise development programmes empower women, particularly mothers with young children, to rise out of poverty and achieve their dreams. When we teach a woman to fish (and sell that fish!), we support an entire family, creating a ripple effect of positive change in communities.

Your strength, support, and dedication to one another are the cornerstones of our success. ๐ŸŒโค๏ธOn this Women's Day, let's continue to live out our sister values and inspire, uplift, and empower each other.
