Fire preparedness
TUFCAT is busy ensuring that we are prepared for emergencies on the farm. We have a water storage dam / fire pool, hoses, an evacuation plan and an alarm. However, our many fire extinguishers need to be serviced. Is there anyone that can please assist with this? We are willing to pay as this is important for our operations.

Update
Coco is seeing the vet today. We have enough cash for a consult...
Coco lives in Villiersdorp and is a much loved little dog. Her owner has cancer and cannot afford a consult at the local vet. She has helped animals in the dorp for many years. We know them both very well and want to assist but our own funds are stretched to the limit.
If you want to help CoCo please email [email protected] or WA 0824330932
***UPDATE*** Thank you to everyone that has assisted with helping Coco she has seen the vet, she is in early stages of heart failure she is on medication to make her more comfortable for now her mommy and her spend what time they have togetherโค๏ธโค๏ธ
*** COCO NEEDS OUR HELP ***
My name is Coco. I am a senior girl and I am not feeling very well. Mommy says I need a doctor, but you see. My mommy is ill too, she has cancer and the only doctor she can afford for me is the state vet, but she cant get me there.
We have a private vet close by which will be easier to get me to, but mommy doesnt have the funds.
The ladies at EFBRSA told mommy that they will try and help me to see the vet close to my home, that makes my heart so happy. I dont want to be far from mommy, the two of us are all we have.
-----
It is not for our rescues we come pleading today, but for an ill senior girl who needs the vet ASAP. Please consider donating towards Coco's vet care. We dont know what it will cost yet, but we feel we need to help this very special girl and her mommy

Feral cats on farms...
One of the things that TUFCAT focuses on is TNR on farms. The alternatives are never humane.
Thanks to support the National Sterilization Project and our friends in the US, Alley Cat Rescue Inc. we can do this one farm at a time. Tomorrow we start with this colony. Workers feed them with food kindly donated by Bob Martin SA.
Please buy a ticket for or three and help Rose the cat with a dental procedure.
R20 per entry.
Thank you!

Arista Keshnee Sirkar and anonymous we really appreciate you very much!
All the kittens we adopted out have now been sterilised...Phew!
We have also been sterilising cats in Grabouw, but have been held back by our bakkie troubles...
Thanks to Dancers Love Dogs and National Sterilization Project and Dr Koba we managed to sterilise 5 more cats from the local community last week.
We have started working on a nearby fruit farm and that colony should be under control soon. The farmer is doing the transporting for us, which is a huge help.
Patrick has been really busy trapping the few remaining sterilised feral cats in UWC campus...

Project TNR
At TUFCAT we believe in miracles. We have experienced them directly. Now as we approach Mandela Day 2024, we hope and pray for another.
Our biggest dream is to obtain a suitable vehicle to enable us to transport feral cats in traps and other animals safely. We need to be able to access farms and drive on dirt roads most of the time. We also need to be able to collect donations, food and other supplies.
This has all become very urgent since we have the funds to sterilise cats. We just need to be able to transport them safely to the vet and back.
So, we have started a fund for a vehicle.
Does anyone have any other ideas of what we can do to raise more cash? Does anyone know anyone who we can approach to sponsor/donate or sell us a reliable vehicle at an affordable price?
This is an absolute priority as there are feral cats on farms that are suffering. We have persuaded the farmers to let us do TNR. We have the money and the vet to sterilise them and also assist with the conservation of the African wildcat. We are utterly grateful for this blessing!

All we need to move forward is obtain a proper vehicle.

Blackie

Thanks to the donor and Thea for paying for it to be delivered to him.
Thank you Brenda Kerr and Celeste for bringing it to Grabouw.
Seeking a diesel mechanic urgently
Update
Thank you Patric Masuku for getting our generator running today. The relief is indescribable
I think we have help. Thanks for all the shares.
Diesel mechanic needed urgently in Grabouw!
Does anyone know a guy???
This past week has been utter hell. We have been without power for a week now. No power means that we cant even pump water, so nothing in the taps. It hasn't stopped raining and the wind is howling.
The main building has an inverter but that is now needing to be charged.
The farm has a huge diesel generator. We paid a guy to service it but he has since disappeared. We really need to get this machine going and desperately need help. But no one local can assist. Does anyone know someone who can help us with our big diesel generator please? This will be a game changer...

At least the cows from the community are happy as they got to graze on our luscious green grass until their tummies were so full the entire herd eventually lay down to rest...
Some of our neighbours were evacuated so we are caring for their cats.
