A slight change to our schedule for the winter months.
Tuesdays at Reunion Yoga in Constantia now begin at 9am.
Saturday mornings at The Yoga Sanctuary in Sea Point now begin at 9.30am.
Over & out. Happy Monday x
2 years ago, a pregnant Kayli Levitan & I walked the length of Sea Point promenade with a few enthusiastic others, raising funds for my Non Profit Organisation Bloom Mama.
This year we are doing it again! Pregnant again with her second child, Kayli has mustered up the energy, enthusiasm & support to do it again and I am so grateful.
We need your help, either by joining us to raise awareness, by sharing this post, or by donating to our Back a Buddy page (see link in the bio). We are passionate about helping mothers less fortunate than ourselves and every rand, dollar, pound & euro makes a HUGE difference.
If you're in Cape Town, please join us at 3pm on Sea Point Prom, in the car park just opposite The Grand Pavilion (a restaurant). Kids, husbands, babies, pets all welcome! You do not need to be pregnant (I'm not, thankfully). Or if you can't make it, please support us by donating to our page.
We also have 25 vouchers for Fritz Dog Parlour & Hotel here in Cape Town, for a free daycare, a free wash & a free drop off or pick up, valued over R500, to give to the first 25 people who arrive with their pooches.
THANK YOU. We're excited to waddle together.

A reminder of our full yoga schedule in Cape Town for 2024.
My Blossom & Bloom app launching soon if you're not in Cape Town and wanting classes. Please see the link on my bio for more information on this.
Thank you to the beautiful for being such an exquisite model, student, birthing QUEEN & friend. And thank you, as always, to my friends at the yoga studios around town who allow me to teach at their beautiful spaces.
The rise & fall of life. The joy & the desperation. The peaks & the troughs. The heart-full & the heartache. Summers & winters.
Always lessons. Always an opportunity to blossom & bloom if we take those lessons & allow ourselves space & time to grow.
Thank you for your words.
2024 schedule is here, beginning Tuesday January 2024.
"Yoga for Hormonal Health" is a new class is at 6pm on Wednesday at The Yoga Sanctuary in Sea Point. Focused on asanas & breathwork that tap into and support the endocrine system and suitable for all women curious about how their physical & psychological health impacts their hormones and how to balance & live well during this rollercoaster of life. Suitable for pregnant & post partum mammas & anyone with hormonal challenges at any stage of their life.
Always so much gratitude to my hosts.
"Teaching Partners to be Doulas". Definitely one of my favourite classes to teach.
Dates for early December are released here now & classes are loaded onto Punchpass for bookings.
There are limited spaces so please book in early to avoid missing out. I work with couples to connect, inform & empower in the days leading up to the birth, so if you're looking for birth preparation together, this class is for you.
Please check out my bio for links to book. I hope to see you there.
Thank you to The Shala, 15a Wandel Street, my yoga home, for always hosting.
I've had a few messages recently from people saying that finances are very tight at the moment and the yoga budget has dropped to the bottom of the list. Can I just say... "I hear you sister". Difficult times on so many levels for us all at the moment.
HOWEVER, right now, I truly believe that we all need each other, the community and yoga more than ever. Lack of funds should not be the reason not to come to class.
SO. My Saturday morning class at 9am in Sea Point will now become a DONATION CLASS. If you can use your full priced class pass up, please do. If funds are tight, my snapscan code will be at the door on leaving and you can snap whatever you can afford at the moment. It can even be R5. It can be R75. I don't mind.
I mean this with all of my heart. Life is bloody tough right now, anxiety levels are sky high and breathing, moving & holding each other has to be top of our priority list.
Hope to see you on the mat. Only love.
I agree with Nana Pat. Maybe it's the Brit in me. Maybe it’s just because I'm human. We are all human.
As mothers particularly, we deeply need to connect to others; share, listen, laugh and sometimes just give or receive a big, fat, warm, supportive hug.
Blossom & Bloom events are just about that. About creating a sisterhood. About showing up without having to put on a facade. About connecting, listening, sharing & supporting each other. And (not to forget), about eating CAKE.
The next event is our regular Brunch & Baby Massage event (swipe left for details) with my delicious, healthy food (plus Thank Goodness Foods, Mother Moon Herbals & My Lunch Buddy) and the incredible Gayle Friedman with her extensive knowledge of babies and baby massage. Thursday 16th November from 9.30am - 12.30pm.
Come. In your pajamas if needs be. Just come.
We all need support. We all need to share experiences; to ugly laugh; to cry those snotty tears. It's an intense time. Just come, whatever it takes.
Booking in in the link in my bio. Easy Peasy. The kettle is on.
Back on the mat this week with a spring in my step!
Swipe left for the full schedule.
Hope to see you on the mat. Newborns welcome in any morning class.
love Harriet & Ash

My June/July couples class date as been set as Saturday 1st July at 5.30pm.
A beautifully connecting class taught by candlelight, ideal for couples birthing in July or early to mid August.
This class becomes more and more important to me; to connect couples in the days and weeks leading up to their birth. Empowering both with knowledge & teaching them techniques to allow their instinctive power to emerge.
The class lasts for approximately 3 hours. Cost is R950 per couple. Venue is The Shala Yoga, 15a Wandel Street, Gardens. Booking please in the link in my bio.
Thanks to The Shala for hosting me and to the incredible Rob and Ash Paddock for allowing me to share an intimate photograph from the birth of their second child. So much love and respect for this incredible team work.
Hope to see you there. Any questions, please email me at [email protected].
My mothers hands. Possibly the most beautiful things in the world to me. This year at the magnificent age of 82 years young.
When I was a little girl, I remember her touching my face and stroking my hair every night and thinking to myself “Her hands are so rough! When I’m a mother, I’m going to have soft, smooth hands and brightly painted nails”.
In my adult years of course, I came to realise the importance of these rough, calloused hands. These were the hands that put a meal on the table every morning & every evening; that cradled my head when I was distressed; that soothed my brow when I was anxious; that helped with art projects; that waved enthusiastically as I went off to school; that taught me to cook; that shopped, baked, ironed, cleaned, sewed, mended, gardened; that prayed for me as I grew up; that tickled me; that wagged a finger at me; that clasped together with grief as my grandmother grew old and died; that presented me with birthday gifts; that festooned the house with decorations at Christmas; that painted pictures and created; that wrote and illustrated the most loving messages. These were the hands that consistently wrapped themselves around me and loved me unconditionally.
And despite monthly manicures, my hands are just as rough as hers at times as I follow in her footsteps and strive to be a mother with equal passion, love & commitment. They are barely ever painted a bright colour. Like my mothers, they are working hands.
As a mother I have learnt (kicking and screaming) to shed my need for perfection and to embrace the imperfections; in my hands, in myself, in my children & in life. It is a daily practice. We are all imperfect. And today, let’s celebrate that.
Here’s to you imperfect mothers. Today & always you are celebrated and admired, imperfections and all.
As a mother who has had 4 births by Caesarean Section, I feel that conversations around surgical birth are vitally important, particularly in South Africa where the C-section rate is so high.
Please join me for a 2 hour Question & Answer session on Saturday 22nd April at 11am in Sea Point. R150 per person/couple including light refreshments.
This session is not just ideal for those planning a Caesarean birth. Knowledge is power when it comes to birthing in this country so this is relevant for couples planning a vaginal birth as well.
Link in bio to book please.
🗣 The next in my series of "Ask Me Anything" sessions will be on October 29th at 10.30am in Sea Point.
💗
Please come along with any questions you may have about pregnancy, birth of the first few days of motherhood. Partners welcome. 50% of the proceeds go to my NPO helping mothers in the lower income areas of Cape Town.
I look forward to seeing you there 🌻
