The need to raise funds in the war against Rhino poaching has never been greater. Get involved, make a difference! www.12hours.co.za
Every 12 hours a Rhino is killed in South Africa. A simple and devastating fact, but true nonetheless. The thought that when you wake up tomorrow morning another Rhino would have been slaughtered is heartbreaking, yet there is something you can do in the next 12 hours to help change this.
We want to introduce you all to Pierre Barau. Not only is he the lead Canine APU Ranger and Canine Trainer for AmazuluK9, but he is also an endurance athlete.
Pierre just ran his qualifying marathon for the Comrades Ultra Marathon. https://www.comrades.com/ This coming June he will run the 87 km (54 miles) race to raise awareness and funds for AmazuluK9. Amazing, huh?
So if ProjectThorn's ride in the Cape Epic doesn’t inspire you to donate to AmazuluK9, please consider supporting Pierre. His dedication, conditioning, and training are beyond admirable. How else would he be able to keep up with the canines running through the bush.
And I will add - he intends to compete in his full APU gear and one of the canines will join him the last few kilometers to cross the finish line together.
To acknowledge Pierre’s commitment to AmazuluK9 and protecting wildlife from poachers, ProjectThorn will match today’s donations up to $500. Links in comments.
Our Girls need your help. Please consider a donation today. We still have a ways to go. Thank you.

This photo deserves a replay. The connection that a canine has with their handler is a true bond.
They protect one another in life-and-death situations.
When they go for a "walk in the park" it's serious business. They depend upon one another's strengths, dedication, training, and instincts when entering dangerous encounters with poachers.
The last thing they need to be worried about is whether their truck is going to make it to an incursion or if they need to flee a fight they can't win.
There is not a donation match today - but your donation still adds to the funding goal. Help us "Give a Truck".
