Ignite Change Heal Communities Nurture Individuals
Founded in 1992, our organisation is community based, context wise (or wise enough), holistic in approach and sacrificial in service. We strive to ignite change, nurture individuals and heal communities. To empower people to move from dependency to dignity.
Poverty and inequality in South Africa is systemic and multigenerational. PEN’s projects work together to deliver an ecosystem of care to vulnerable families to enable them to break free of injustice and poverty, one family line at a time. Ending the cycle of poverty in a family line ends it forever. With this as the focus, in time there will be fewer people in desperate need of assistance.
PEN serves three distinct people groups: Young Children (aged 0-6), Youth (aged 7-25) and Destitute Adults.
Each of PEN’s projects have the following elements woven into them: Restoration of identity, Holistic care, a Multi-generational approach, Intentional agility and efficiency.
