Sometimes, the most important thing we can do is listen to our bodies. It’s not always easy to step back, especially when we have commitments we’re passionate about. This Wednesday, I had to make the tough decision to cancel my chair yoga and meditation class. I was battling a heavy head cold and knew I wouldn’t be able to give my best to the participants.

While I love my classes and seeing everyone enjoy an hour of relaxation, I realised I needed to be honest with myself. My body needed rest and recovery after several intense weeks of work and caring responsibilities. By tuning into what my body was saying and giving myself the time to re-energise, I can be more present and effective for the people I care about and the activities I cherish.

As busy women it is hard to stop and take a break without feeling guilty that we should be doing something. There are so many things competing for your attention and sometimes if you don’t do them then they won’t get done. I understand.

Remember, it’s okay to take a break and prioritise your health. We all need self-care time and it’s not selfish to want to take a time out to recharge your batteries.

Only then can we truly be there for others. Take care and listen to your body—it’s the best guide you have.

🌿 Embracing the Present Moment 🦋

During my holiday in Bali, I've chosen to step away from the bustling tourist spots and immerse myself in the serenity of nature. Yesterday, I captured a beautiful moment—a lone butterfly perched gracefully on a leaf. Watching its delicate wings move up and down, I couldn't help but marvel at the vibrant colours and intricate textures.

This simple scene reminded me of the importance of living in the present moment. Our lives often get consumed by the whirlwind of work, home, family, and social commitments. But when we pause to notice the world around us, we gain a new perspective on what truly matters.

Did you know that humans can see more shades of green than most animals? This unique ability allows us to appreciate the subtle beauty of nature that often goes unnoticed. By taking time to slow down and ground ourselves, we can find beauty and meaning in the simplest things.

Next time you feel overwhelmed, take a moment to look around you. Notice the colours, the textures, the small wonders that make our world extraordinary. It's in these moments that we can find clarity and remember what is truly important.

A beautiful morning's chair yoga and meditation class today Woodcroft-Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre Thank you to my beautiful goddesses who attended and enjoyed an hour of gentle yoga stretches followed by a relaxing meditation session. Chair yoga is perfect for all ages and all fitness levels as we focus on using breathwork while moving through a series of gentle poses designed to improve flexibility, balance, strength and leave you feeling relaxed.

Senior’s Chair Yoga six week program 2024 classes will be held on Wednesday mornings at 10am – 11am. Term 1 classes commence on 7 February to 13 March 2024.

Learn how to relax and reconnect with your mind and body while easing tight and tense muscles in the body with gentle chair yoga exercises. Learn to bring your body back into a state of relaxation so healing can begin. Chair yoga is also a great way to stay fit, active and social.

Nature has a calming effect on your mind and body and today we walk away from the busyness and get walking mindfully. You can walk in your local park, on the beach or around your neighbourhood. Simply pay attention to the act of walking – your footsteps on the ground, your breath and spend the time noticing your environment.
