Yogalates in the park today ! we were unable to use Tom Atkin Hall today (even though l have been there every Saturday for the last 3years ) as Tugun Progress Association decided to rent it out for a workshop for the whole day so they could make more money ! so much for supporting local businesses !! 👎🤔

As the founder of Tugun Yogalates my aim is to help people increase their physical and mental wellbeing , l started with this journey teaching from my home several years ago on Saturday mornings and then chose to move to Tugun Progress Hall ( now called Tom Atkins hall ) . l chose this venue as many of my students were local and l liked that this association was community based and seemed to want to support local businesses. After renting the hall regularly every Saturday morning for three years l am devastated to be told that from next year l will be unable to rent the hall on Saturday mornings. l have been told that it will only be available for half or full day bookings ( for a large amount of money ! ) l have appealed to the Tugun Progress Association committee to allow our class to start earlier so they could still rent out the hall afterwards, unfortunately the committee has made their decision without allowing me to attend their meetings and have not taken into consideration that l may have to shut down my business if l can't find an alternative venue , they have offered another day but this is not an option as l can only teach on Saturday morning and my students attend this time as many of them work or have other commitments during the week . This is totally contradictory to what the TPA claim as their objective to " provide support for local community events and activities that promote the social , business, environmental, economic and physical wellbeing for the community " l am devastated as l have not been able to find an alternative venue , so if anyone knows of a space available in the Tugun / Currumbin area on Saturday mornings between 9 - 10 or earlier could you please let me know , thank you , Jane 🙏🙏🙏

A big thank you to everyone that donated to our fundraiser for the floods last Saturday from our Tugun Yogalates class 😍 well done !! we raised $ 435 !! 🙆‍♀️💛💜

Tugun Yogalates will be having a fundraiser for the Queensland and N.S.W floods on Saturday 26th of March , all proceeds from our Saturday class plus donations will be given to the charity Givit which donates 100% to the floods ☺ So if you have been wanting to come along to a class or haven't been for a while Saturday is your day ! class starts at 9am at Tugun Progress hall , join us for a coffee after ☕😄

I have been a Yoga Instructor for many years and fell in love with Yogalates, which is a fusion of Yoga and Pilates. As a woman over 50, I am also aware of the specific needs of people in this age group. I am also qualified in remedial and aromatherapy massage, beauty and I am a naturopath.
