Last week Women Onsite was out at Kangan Institute to host an Introduction to Metal Trades and Clean Energy Jobs night. We heard from tradeswomen, industry and career experts, toured Kangan's welding and engineering workshops and women in attendance also assembled a mini wind turbine to take home! Thanks to Kangan Institute for hosting us and to for helping to organise! Keep an eye out for our next event in Wodonga.

Deep in the manufacturing heartland of Dandenong we are learning about metal trades with Chisholm Tafe. Loads of folks getting their hands on tools and learning more about the awesome industry. We have had 2 workshops in the last fortnight. In Coburg we worked with the awesome NORM. We had Amelia and Hannah our cool boiler makers and the awesome Lucy who is afitter and turner teaching us about metal fab and welding. So many women and non binary folks interested in getting into metal trades! Do you want to get into some metal work? We had our first Women In Manufacturing and Metal Trades event over the weekend. Hosted by Chisholm Tafe in partnership with . Rain and storms did not deter these folks! We had a blast with virtual welding and metal fab skills. Thanks to our awesome tradies for helping inspire the next round of women into trades! Are you interested in a metal trade job? We had our final timber workshop at 2 weeks ago. Great turn out and big thanks to our tradies who came along to help teach participants to make a Native Bee Hotel.

I got to visit local chippie Marcelle's Building & Carpentry a few months back and check out what she was up to onsite!
