Dear Western Tigers Family,

With deep sorrow, we announce the loss of our cherished friend and esteemed member of the Western Tigers family, Sujith.

Sujith embodied the qualities of a true gentleman and a person of outstanding character. His warm smile, contagious laughter, and consistent kindness left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he crossed paths with. An essential figure in our community, Sujith was always there to offer a helping hand and wise counsel. His absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joining the Western Tigers family in 2013, Sujith swiftly became an indispensable part of our team. His love for the game and his unwavering commitment to his teammates were evident in every aspect of his involvement. He served as a genuine source of inspiration for us all.

The emptiness created by Sujith's absence is deep and cannot be filled. We will always hold dear the moments we spent with him and the numerous memories we created together.

During this challenging period, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Sujith's family.

What an amazing journey it has been in the Melbourne Super League !

Over 13 weeks of intense action and 11 thrilling matches, Western Tigers CC secured an unbeaten streak, ultimately clinched the Melbourne Super League Championship title.

Well played Punjab empire, who put up a valiant fight in the final, it truly lived up to being called a final.

We faced off against some of the most formidable teams and emerged victorious, demonstrating our strength as we became the best out of 20 incredible teams.

We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ashish Mathew and Sid Sharma, for their outstanding performance on the field.

Ashish's dedication and skills have shone bright as he secured not one, not two, but THREE prestigious trophies: Best Batsman, Player of the Final, and Most Valuable Player!

Sid, our skipper and an incredible bowler, has been an unstoppable force, claiming the title of Best Bowler with his extraordinary skills and commitment to the game.

The applause extends beyond the field, as we express our sincere gratitude to Sarath, the devoted organizer of Melbourne Super League. His tireless dedication and passion have truly elevated this championship into a remarkable tournament.

Lastly, it's time to reflect on the incredible journey of the last 13 weeks. Each and every member of our phenomenal team has given their heart and soul, showcasing unwavering dedication, resilience, and a spirit that's truly awe-inspiring.

We owe it all to your relentless efforts and sacrifices guys.

Onwards and upwards !

What a rollercoaster ride it was! Western Tigers CC gave it their all in the unforgettable MAV-KPL T10 final, and though victory slipped through our fingers in the very last ball, our team's spirit and perseverance were truly remarkable.

Congratulations to Falcons CC for their well-deserved win!

In a nail-biting chase of 122 in 10 overs, with only 6 runs required on the last ball, Arun Sathyan managed to strike a six under intense pressure, defining the thin line between first place and second place. Bijith Balakrishnan delivered an extraordinary innings, smashing 61 runs off just 25 balls laid the foundation for their chase.

Our heartfelt thanks to Malayalee Association of Victoria - MAV for organising this fantastic tournament. It's been a fantastic journey, and we're looking forward to next year with eager anticipation!

This weekend was nothing short of magical. We want to thank each and every member of our team Western Tigers CC for dedicating their time and sacrificing their weekend for the love of cricket. You've all played like true champions.
Let our incredible journey continues.

Tigers almost pulled off the chase of 132 in 10 overs but fell just short of 3 runs in this thrilling contest. Congratulations to Brimbank Strikers for winning 2022 MAV-KPL T10 championship.
Kudos to the entire Malayalee Association of Victoria - MAV team for their effort to organize this wonderful KPL T10 tournament.

And with this, our 2022 has come to an end!
It wasn't a great year for Tigers, but so much learning of what we could’ve done better.
Now to enjoy the break and to get ready for 2023!

Another glorious unbeaten season for Western Tigers.
Winning a Championship is not only an incredibly special feat; it is also very hard to do. So when you win a Championship twice, that it is even better and even harder. Tigers have done it again !

After being sent in to bat, MDU were dismissed for 91 and Tigers wrapped up a 7 wickets emphatic victory with 8 overs to spare in the grand final of Brimbank Cup.

Well done Tigers!

It was a flawless season for Western Tigers CC finishing the year 2019-2020 undefeated and winning both the Udaya Cup and Brimbank Cup tournament championships.

As the decision made by the authorities last night the tournament was to conclude with immediate effect due to ongoing concerns about the COVID-19, Western Tigers CC have been announced as the joint winners of the Brimbank Cup alongside Northern Royals.

Having won all the 19 games played, it has been a great journey right from the beginning of the season.

Taking this opportunity to thank each of the players that contributed greatly to this success.

Ankush Sharma, Anup John, Ashish Mathew, Charles Mathew, Cyriac Antony Moncy, Vicky Mann, Hino Jacob, Issac John, Shafeek Mohamed, Navab Kodiyathur, Premith Unnikrishnan, Aj Nijo Charunekethan, Sandeep Mathew, Shevin Thayamkery, Sid Sharma, Sujith Padmanabhan , Sunny Sunu Ponnezhath, Vikram Singh, Zameel Arif.

Brimbank Strikers

With the current fluid situation regarding the Covid-19 (novel coronavirus) we need to protect the welfare of our tournament participant teams players, officials, umpires, scores and match officials.
Like all of you, we have been intently monitoring reports of the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) over the past few weeks.
As per the instructions reeived from the Brimbank City Council today, Brimbank Strikers have made a decision to call off the tournament.
The decision to introduce these changes has been made in line with recommendations of leading health bodies on how to limit the spread of COVID-19 which are also consistent with decisions made by other sporting clubbs around the globe.
By cancelling the tournament, we are adhering to the expected “social distancing” behaviours that are now the norm.

The committe has decided to declare the group stage leaders as the Joint Winners and the other two teams as the joint runner-ups for the Tournament.
As per the decision, Northern Royals and Western Tigers CC are the Joint Winners and will share the first prize.
The Lanka Lions & Melbourne Districts United will be the Joint Runners-up and will share the second prize.

Congratulations to the winning teams!!

we arrive at this decision with untold reluctance to ensure we follow guidelines in relation to COVID-19.

Hope to have the same level of support for our future competitions also.
