Meet Kate and Elena. They laugh as hard as they train. They are kicking arse and getting SOOOO strong it’s actually unbelievable. What impresses me most about these two is their dedication. They are both exceptionally busy people but they make training happen, twice a week, semi religiously. It really is showing in their results too. Improved posture, functional strength, increased range and decreased semi debilitating pain, not to mention how great they are looking and feeling.

Our next hike is a new route. “The Razorback”. It’s a 22km out and back from Hotham to Mt Feathertop. It’s easier than bungalow spur as we hike the ridge line, rather than ⬆️ then ⬇️ with Bungalow Spur. So essentially you’re in the clouds, if there even are any, all day. The fresh air, beauty and silence will blow your mind. We’ll have a little group meditation at the top then head back home to stay and dinner at the epic Wandi Pub. Does it get any better? Places still available. This is a 2-3 night weekend you will literally never forget. 🏔🥾✨😍🌲

This is a picture of a group of people who are doing something they’d rather not be doing. They are running up a hill backwards. It hurts their legs. It makes them puff. They’d like to stop. But they don’t stop. They don’t even really slow down much. They use a wonderful little bag of tricks to make it happen.

*The join a group of people who are on the same mission as they are and they add-to and draw-from the collective energy of that group.
*The comply with the tough orders because that’s the deal
*They remind themselves that they wouldn’t do this alone
And my fave.. When they are really having to dig deep..

I find that making my clients that run in front of trams, actually run really quite fast. That is not my only training secret. There are others that you could learn each Wednesday at 6am, if becoming a faster runner is a priority.
Have you ever been taught to run? Whilst nearly everybody can run, not many can run really well. You know that. You’ve seen it. Those people that appear effortless.
This Saturday at 2pm in St Kilda we will be holding a 1.5hr “Running Technique Clinic” which will teach you technique + drills to practice to make you a stronger, therefore, better runner and less prone to injury.
Ideal for kids (8 years plus) to set them up well for the future and the older athlete to act as an insurance policy against wear and tear on your joints.
Numbers are limited, so please act quickly. $75 per adult. $50 per child. Parent + child combo encouraged, although children can attend solo if pre-arranged.

Who’s had a tough time getting motivated and staying consistent with their training / well-being in general since COVID left the building?
Sooooo many people.
We know accountability is super handy. What I now know after starting a membership offering is that people paying in advance helps most people but there are actually a fair chunk who are happy to pay and then not show up (that blows my mind).
So if you’re trying to be a regular group training attendee but are struggling or haven’t found a way kick start your healthy living approach post Covid, maybe let’s book you in fir a monthly PT session for a while? Get you on track and accountable?
I’m happy to take 8 new clients for this purpose. My schedule is pretty chockers, but I can add in a day of extra work, once a month for this.
It will cost you $270 for 3 months. 1 session per month (I only want people who are serious enough to commit to that as a minimum) and you will get your session, a training plan to mark off your progress and accountability to me to stick with your plan as well as the all important “at home training plan” to use as your back up when / if you can’t make it in to the gym.

“Clean up your act” for the future you. To be our best, we must take good care of our health. It’s our main asset.
Do it for your future life. Your future mornings. Your future training sessions. Your future adventures.
Your future GOALS
Let’s expand on that last one.. goals.
We discussed this at the 6am Group session this morning. Goal setting can be HARD. Dreaming up a BIG dream is hard and scary. It can be SO difficult to spit out the words. What if your goal isn’t as incredible sounding as somebody else’s? What if your goal doesn’t involved carrying a gun to shoot potential predators, but it’s more like learning to swim? Or start cold therapy. Or learn to cook healthy meals for yourself.
Goals are so personal. The ability to actually dream them up and actually commit takes guts, no matter what that goal is.
You know what’s a scarier thought for me? Not having goals in life. Not ever finding out what I’m realllllly capable of.
That scares the S**T out of me.
This next year, my goal is to up-skill.
I’m going to learn to self-belay 🧗🏼♀️so I can climb solo (I’m tired of thinking I need someone more capable around to help me. I’m going to be that person for myself from now on).
I’m going to become a confident camper in the bush. Solo and otherwise.
I’m also going to get my gun licence and learn to (respectfully and responsibly) use a gun.
My favourite goal however, is to lead like-minded people into a life that involves more skill and adventure. To build a network of capable people around me, who I also happen to love to spend time with.
I am SO blessed to have an occupation that is as fulfilling and broad in its application, that I can live this way.
To my wonderful friends and clients - COME WITH ME!! Life is for the living!
Now pick up a pen and write down a goal that scares the s**t out if you, just a little bit.
If you’d like to share your goal with me or this community, I strongly encourage you to do so. Once those words are out there, you can’t take them back. You’ll need follow through, but you’ll have taken the first BIG step.
