"It ran in the family until it ran into me." Dr Espen.
Regarding intergenerational trauma, breaking patterns and healing.
TESTIMONIAL.
“I think I’m still deeply unhappy but I’m trying to understand why – therapy has given me the ability to slowly process it all.
It is not a fix all, but it is the foundation to my brief existence, peace, and wellbeing.
Vicki is exceptional – she offered the compassion I need for myself and demands responsibility at my shortcomings all while celebrating my strengths.
Life is long and will have hard and squishy parts. And with time and therapy the stone hard parts are slowly becoming sponges.
I foresee myself continuing therapy with Vicky because she is continually providing me the tools to hold my mind and my body together.
Therapy made me come to terms about being humans, friendship, self-express, sleep, routine, healthy coping mechanisms, expressing emotions. That there is life within depressions. That to be sad can still mean living. That life is ongoing and so should therapy”.

"I connected with Vicki through my search for an external supervisor. She was an invaluable source of support during what was a difficult time professionally. Vicki is incredibly professional in her approach, a great listener and highly skilled in what she does. Vicki provided me with strategies and tools to support me in my work. She was easy to talk to and always checked in to make sure I was getting what I needed out of our supervision sessions. I would highly recommend Vicki to anyone looking for 1:1 guidance and support."

The Counselling process can help you in many ways:
- The confidential nature of counselling, allows you to express yourself freely knowing that what is discussed remains between you and the counsellor.
- The counselling space is such that it is an open space where the counsellor seeks to understand. This enables you to talk about areas of your life that you feel can't be shared with other people.
- Many people experience great relief in talking to a professional about their challenges. The process of revealing what is on your mind, is in and of itself therapeutic.
- As the counselling process unfolds over time, there is much value in going deeper where you will be supported to explore the patterns, dynamics and structures etc that may be contributing to your challenges.
- A counsellor is a witness to where you are at when you first seek out support, the weeks, months and in some cases the years ahead as you embark on your unique journey of self discovery.
- The counsellor has specialized knowledge and skills. You will learn strategies and techniques to use as you navigate your individual circumstances.
- Most importantly, you will benefit from the professional relationship that is formed with your counsellor. They are there to listen, patiently guide you in self awareness with understanding, respect and great care. You will be supported and safe in the context of the professional therapeutic relationship.

Client testimonial......
"I was never one to see the importance of mindfulness and the power of the mind, nor did I see the benefits of seeking help and support when I did begin to notice signs of my declining mental health. I was suffering from anxiety and had experienced a panic attack when I realized I couldn’t recover alone. I wish I had met Vicki earlier, she was a safe place and taught me how to control how I respond to stressful situations, which in turn has significantly improved my wellbeing. I just wished I had seen her earlier. My advice is there is no shame, no judgement, take the steps to getting your life back."

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL -
“Last year i ended up in a bad place mentally. I was referred to Vicki and my mental health was changed for the better.
I didn’t know if i was coming or going originally. Every day was a struggle.
Vicki always made me feel comfortable and safe which allowed me to open up and talk about what i was going thru.
It took a while but now i have made changes to my life and i am in a place where i am happy again so i hopefully won’t go thru this again.
Vicki was a shining light in my dark times and i am grateful for every thing she has helped me with, also knowing that she will be there for me if i need her again.” Anthony.
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL -
"I am so grateful to have had Vicki's guidance through a rough time in my relationship, and to have come out the other side with the knowledge and tools to navigate any future difficulties. I highly recommend seeing her if you are needing a therapist who will always be fair and will take the time to be thorough. F 28"

Mother’s Day can be a stark reminder of different and extremely difficult experiences for some people. The marketing and advertising gurus capitalise on this designated day to increase their profits. However too often, no-one talks about the other side of Mother’s Day💔
For many women this is a time of intense sadness and grief. The topic of woman who wish to be pregnant and give birth to their own offspring but can’t for various reasons is still a very hidden and lonely experience. For some woman, factors such as physical health, mental health, relationship status and financial barriers can be just a few of the challenges they face in the desire to conceive.
Then there are woman who are going through the gruelling and lonely process of IVF. A Journey that often doesn’t result in the desired outcome of the woman/couple. The IVF process is costly with people spending thousands of dollars and often invest so much to the point that the woman/couple end up in financial distress as a result.
Mother’s Day as defined by traditional mainstream views is also very restrictive in what is acknowledged and celebrated and what is dismissed as less than and even ignored altogether. There are many women who have had mothering roles at various points in their life. Most often, these women are not even acknowledged, let alone celebrated and showered with cards, gifts and special gatherings/events. For some people who have never known their biological mothers, others who have very difficult or estranged relationships with their mother, it’s an equally difficult time.
Sadly, some people have had their mothers prematurely pass away due to horrendous illnesses or shocking tragic circumstances. Either way grief runs deep and is often pronounced on such days.
So, on this Mother’s Day, to all who are feeling deeply the myriad of emotions of sadness, hurt, anger, disappointment, frustration, pain, grief struck, alone, invisible, feeling the absence of your own mother or acutely aware of yourself not being a mother in the traditional sense, please know you are not alone. You are valued and important for being you regardless of any label of title or lack of one! Society still does a fine job of making woman without children feel inferior. You absolutely aren’t. You are just as important as anyone else.
So, my message to all the incredible people reading this is be kind and gentle with yourself and treat yourself as you would your very dearest friend on a day that may be particularly triggering and emotional for you.
May everyone reading this have a beautiful and uplifting day!
