We didn’t have the greatest day yesterday however it shows a great deal of character to pick yourself up and go ahead the next day and fight to get the W against a top four team.

MUZZ SIGNS ON FOR TWO MORE YEARS:

The Upper Ferntree Gully Cricket Club is excited to announce the re-signing of Ryan Murray for the next two seasons

Ryan joined us at the beginning of the 2021 season and has been a mainstay of our 1st XI side since, captaining the club for the last two seasons.

Ryan has decided to step down at the end of the season but we look forward to his contributions to our leadership group for at least two more years and beyond.

We love that we will have Ryan and his partner Kate around at the club for another few years yet!

TEAMS:

Teams are in for the penultimate round of the season with plenty on the line for all four teams as we head towards the end of the season.

On Sunday, our 1st XI will be playing a catch-up game against St Johns Tecoma Cricket Club where the club will join the Saints in wearing blue armbands to show support for their Ashtma Awareness Round.

Good luck to everyone pulling on the red and blue over the weekend!

Well we just feel short last night after having to play a super over to split the teams in the 20/20.

Well done to Craig Bridle and the Upper Ferntree Gully Football Netball Club on claiming the victory for the second time.

It couldn't of been a great night without the help of our fantastic club members. Thank You Marina Hocking , Kath Mackay, Roz Atkins in the kitchen and Adrian Thomas for cooking the meat. Glenfern Bakery for the rolls for the Hot Dogs.

Matt Walker, Boz and Tony Cross for working the bar, Andrew Petrie for the music and a special mention to Sean Woody Woodward for organizing Tony Shaw who was fantastic.

Also thank you to Ferntree Gully Cricket Club and Upwey-Tecoma Cricket Club for allowing a couple of their players to play on the night.

Neil "Nelly" Roberts is a long time servant and legend of both clubs and it's a honor for both clubs to play a game for him.

We are look forward to next year and hopefully we get one back on the winning list.

In warm conditions on Saturday, Upper Ferntree Gully Cricket Club workhorse Tom Roleff bowled nearly all day, and claimed the incredible figures of 7/72 from 28 overs (4 maidens) 👏👏👏

Roleff has been reliable all season for the Kings with both bat and ball, and these figures are the result of someone who gives his absolute all for his side!

Last Round v Sth Belgrave Sanka Begg made his 1s debut for our club, he was giving his hat by his great mate Marcello Giurini.

Sanka took 2 wickets in his first game.

Our Under 16's & Under 18's Representative sides have made it through to the VMCU Grand Final's on Sunday (Jan 21st)

The Under 16's are playing at Upwey Rec Reserve (10am start) against the Ringwood and District Cricket Association. If you're looking for a FTGDCA cricket fix on your Sunday be sure to get to Upwey and support the Under 16's!

The Under 18's have to make the track over to Hogans Road Reserve in Hoppers Crossing, as they face the Western Region Junior Cricket Association in their Grand Final (10:30am start).
