Shiatsu, which translates as 'finger pressure' in Japanese, is a non-invasive form of acupressure that unblocks, nourishes and balances the flow of Qi (vital energy), restoring balance and allowing healing to take place.
My garden is the embodiment of spring right now - bursting with blossoms, bees, buds and blooms.
Our internal garden is also experiencing a spring renewal. You may be feeling your energy lifting, inspiration knocking on your door, your heart a little lighter. As we step into this new season of self, remember to look after the Liver - the organ system that is connected to the season of spring.
Some simple suggestions to navigate this changeable season -
*keep your neck covered with a light scarf - this vulnerable area is where spring 'wind' can enter and leave us susceptible to colds and illness.
*keep hydrated with warm water with a squeeze of lemon and a pinch of celtic sea salt.
*nourish your Liver energy with fresh leafy green vegetables, dandelion root tea, beetroot, whole grains, seeds and shiitake mushrooms.
It's a new era!
I'm excited to announce that Seed Shiatsu is now treating from Greensborough Family Chiropractic (53 Grimshaw Street) every Thursday.

Summer Solstice Blessings everyone!
On this day the Earth's tilt and its transit around the sun reaches a point where we experience the longest day and the shortest night.
We are moving into peak Yang - a time of Fire. So shine your light, dance around a bonfire and take time to honour your inner Fire and those you share your heart with.
❤
At 7.13pm tonight we celebrate the Winter Solstice, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year, when Yin is at it's peak.
The Winter Solstice brings forth the movement of deep Yin towards bright Yang - as we move from the darkness of winter towards the brightness of summer; from death towards rebirth.
This season of deep Yin is the time to honour our mind, body and spirit. Make time for self-reflection, take a rest when you need it, nourish yourself with warming soups and stews and give thanks to all that fills your heart with joy and contentment.
Solstice blessings to you all.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season filled love, kindness and connection.
I will be enjoying as much of this time of year as I can, so I won't be back treating until Monday 10th January.
Looking forward to seeing you in 2022!
We are now officially one day into winter - and in Traditional East Asian Medicine it's time to nourish and support the Kidney/Water energy.
*
When we have abundant Kidney Qi we are strong and supple, warm and vital, grounded and less anxious.
*
To support our Kidney Qi, keep ourselves warm and our Shen (Heart mind) grounded, there are two things you can do. Firstly, ALWAYS keep the soles of your feet covered by wearing thick socks or slippers inside the house. The acupuncture point Kidney 1 - Yongquan/Bubbling Spring - is here and by covering Kidney 1 you prevent cold entering through this point, travelling along the channel and weakening the Kidney Qi.
*
Secondly, if you are feeling anxious, agitated or having problems with sleep, gently massage or hold this point, imagining warmth entering the point, moving up along the inside aspect of the leg, up into your lower abdomen, umbilicus and lower back. This nourishes qi and calms the spirit.
A good reminder...
This Sunday is the day we get to celebrate the ones who carried us in their bellies, birthed us and loved us up.
Our beautiful Mums.
If your are looking for a present that will nurture them, I have gift vouchers available. Just contact me on

Lots of love to all the amazing mothers out there. 💙💗
I found this image in a recent article about 'The Rock' using cupping therapy for the first time - just so we are clear, he didn't come to me for a treatment!
That being said, I love using cupping in my clinical practice - it's perfect for blockage and stagnation of Qi and Blood which can cause tightness and pain.
Cupping breaks up any blockage and restores the body's natural flow of energy, allowing healing to take place.
It is a safe, effective and relaxing therapy that has been around for at least two thousand years...and you don't have to look like 'The Rock' for it to work for you!
