Did some upgrade compared to previous bike models

This bike has Shimano hubs. So stronger and more reliable.
Shimano Acera 8 speed gears for more responsive shifting.
Shimano disc brake rotors for better stopping power.
32mm wide tires for better grip and comfort.

So overall a very good bike for the price.

The bike is built at a family owned small scale bicycle assembly factory in Sri Lanka. So each bike gets fair amount of attention compared to a bike comes from a large factory. The factory owner and her daughter runs an ethical sustainable fair venture with good staff. Very happy to offer bikes built by them.

This is an all-round good quality city bike that would give a very comfortable and smooth ride.

This is one of the best bikes from this workshop. The frame is very sturdy for a step through bike.

Hello beautiful faces,

Writing this to let you know that, here at i am free bicycles, all bicycle stock has run out. Currently waiting for the next shipments.

There would be two new bike models arriving in the upcoming months. One is the standard good bike and the other is a good step through bike (yes, the step through bike is going to be here, can you believe that).

Thank you, all you kind people inquired about the step through bike since it went out of stock. Shall keep you posted here on social media as well as the website when the new bikes are here.

Sincerely sorry for not being able to give you an exact date of arrival as there are long lead times due to parts shortages and some factories are catching up with backlog of orders due to lockdowns.

Notification of product recall for the bicycle you purchased from i am free bicycles - Model good.bike
Bikes purchased between 7th January 2021 to 14 September 2021

Writing this to respectfully inform you to get your bicycle's handlebar replaced as soon as possible. Saying that, shall install a new handlebar free of charge. As the good.bike name says, this workshop has a duty of care to give you a safe, good bike.

If you could please bring in the bicycle to the workshop in Fitzroy (54 Johnston Street, Fitzroy 3065) can install the new handlebar and return the bicycle in 10 minutes. Due to this recall, workshop hours for repairs are weekdays 10AM to 5PM, Saturday and Sunday 10AM to 3PM.

If you are not able to visit the workshop, good to visit at a location that is convenient for you and do the new handlebar changeover on the spot. If that is the case respectfully, has to be before 9:30AM or after 6:30PM during the week (weekends before 9:30AM or after 4:30PM). If you are interstate based or based in country Victoria good to post the new handlebar.

Writing this with you and your safety in mind. Reason to say this is, a customer concern was made in regards to the handlebar. While the bike was ridden the handlebar has bent. While there was no rider injury, sill this issue concerns me greatly. So ordered a new shipment of handlebars from a Melbourne based company straight away and wrote this message. Given that there was this issue reported about the handlebar I am bound to inform you to please discontinue riding the bike and get this new handlebar installed as soon as possible.

The bicycle would be returned fully sanitised. At all times, shall keep social distancing and be wearing a mask.

Please disregard this message if you requested a different handlebar at point of purchase.

If you on sold your bicycle, could you kindly forward this message to the new owner.

At the moment due to the Victorian Government lockdown restrictions, workshop day to day shop sales activities are temporarily discontinued. What is permitted is provide bicycle repair and critical maintenance. Also respectfully, I am not able to let you visit inside the workshop. I am able to collect the bicycle at front door and return it. If you have any concerns I can replace the handlebar on side of Johnston Street (in front of the workshop). As mentioned earlier, it takes around 10 minutes to do a handlebar changeover.

Sincerely apologise about any inconveniences this recall may have caused. It is important as a small bike workshop to make sure that you are riding a very safe bike. Since you put your trust in the small workshop to offer you good bike would honour the pledge to give you a good bike.

At the time of parts sourcing, the factory had 5 months lead time for all Shimano Altus gear set (this is due to Covid pandemic related supply chain interruptions and parts shortages) . That would have taken delivery of the bicycle to March of 2021. Given the lead time, decided to use a compatible cassette and a chain. These parts as is works quite well. If you require all Shimano Altus Shifter, Derailleur, Shimano cain and Shimano Hyperglide cassette, can source those parts locally. With this setup the price of the bicycle would be $500.

Bicycle delivery done the old school way in a cargo bike (sometimes bikes delivery would be ride and walk back).

Good to deliver the bicycle free of charge if you are based less than 7.5km from Fitzroy, Victoria 3065. If it is between 7.5km - 15km deliver for a fee of $20. Bicycle would be delivered fully assembled and ready to ride. With regards to delivery, before 9am or after 5pm preferred.

When it comes to long delivery missions once you start going there is no going back. It is a commitment. Wind, rain, sunshine.....When it comes commitments and have to keep the promises. Sometimes good missions takes time. So these type of cargo bike delivery is slow moving compared to a van. Still rather than thinking about the full journey and getting overwhelmed just take it one kilometre at a time. Sometimes it is easy said that done. Still have to do it.
