HOW VCE EXAMS WILL WORK AMID DELTA OUTBREAK
VCE students who are close contacts of COVID-19 cases will still be allowed to put pen to paper when exams roll around later this month.

The state government announced changes to rules around close contacts, which will enable those students to get exemptions to attend exams.

They will enter their school through a separate entrance and attend written exams in ventilated rooms that are cleaned after every use.

However, COVID-positive students won't have that same opportunity, and will be barred from any exams while they are infectious.

PFIZER VACCINE BOOKINGS PUT ON HOLD DUE TO SUPPLY ISSUES

First doses and walk-in bookings for the Pfizer vaccine have been put on hold across some of Victoria’s mass-vaccination centres due to "ongoing supply issues".

Western Health (WH), which runs community vaccination hubs including Sunshine Hospital and Melbourne Showgrounds, has issued a statement that from today (June 14) several changes have been put in place for people wanting to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

While everyone with existing Pfizer vaccine bookings will receive their vaccine – from today “you will not be able to book in to receive a first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine,” WH said.

“The only exceptions are: people who work for Hotel Quarantine, people who work for Tidewatch, high rise accommodation residents and staff, Red Zone airport and marine port staff, and those with travel exemptions.”

On its website, WH said the changes were being made “due to ongoing supply issues”.

As for walk-in bookings, WH said: “Unfortunately you will not be able to walk in for any Pfizer vaccination.”

The Department of Health said in a statement: "Around 50,000 people have booked in for their first Pfizer dose this week – the maximum number of first doses which can be administered while also delivering second doses for others who need it."

"This week, vaccination centres are focusing on administering second doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the large number who came forward to receive their first dose from three weeks prior."
