This Sunday just gone Lokmon had his first ever boxing bout joining his older brother Hasan to make it another pair of siblings to compete for the gym over the years…

GREAT PERFORMANCES BY THE LADS YESTERDAY

3 wins from 6 yesterday for the team! Well done to all 6 of you as we had some stand out performances and people exceeding expectations for their first fights also..

First up yesterday for us was Lokman in his first ever bout.. The hard work you’ve put in at the gym was on show yesterday young man in that performance you gave up against a much older boxer and even though we didn’t get the win you showed what talent you have and the future is bright for you..

2nd up for us was Hasan In his 6th fight for the year already.. your going from strength to strength mate as that was the best you boxed to date showing how much you’ve improved with your boxing skills taking a unanimous points victory..

3rd up was Eli against the same boxer
for the 3rd time having both split their first two encounters.. You could see Eli has improved with his in and out movement from the start landing nice clean punches while securing a good defence, in preparation for a big last round which so far was the best round we’ve ever seen him box. With great array of punches landing mixed in with great work rate… Eli took the unanimous points win, well done young man!

4th up was Bryce in his first fight for 2024.. another one who has made such an improvement this year and yesterday it was all out there for show… Brycey really put his hand speed on display landing great combinations and better yet his defence was even better… Bryce took a unanimous points victory..let’s keep the momentum going mate..

Up 5th was John in his first ever bout against a lad who’s already had a few to his name, but wow did he exceed all expectations in Avery entertaining bout by both boxers that was extremely close… unfortunately John lost a split decision, but you got the first one out of the way mate so let’s keep it going now..

Up last for us yesterday was Tor in his first bout.. In what was a messy bout from both boxers from the opening bell, Tor got hit with a shot about a minute in which gave him an 8 count and the bout was rightly waved off.. chin up mate as it’s one of those things with boxing you can get caught at anytime… proud of the hard work you’ve put in so keep it up mate.

Lastly thanks to our amazing crew of people that came down from the gym to support the lads, it is much appreciated..

A bigger thank you goes to our team of coaches in Coach Carter, Peter, Rinto and Sam… thanks heaps lads your all legends!

JAKI GIVES IT EVERYTHING IN A BACK & FOURTH 10 ROUND BOUT

Well done to our girl Jaki last night for putting on a great displayin the main event of the Warehouse rumble event in Sydney..
unfortunately Jaki lost by a close split decision over the 10 round bout!

Jaki started off the bout great winning the first few rounds then credit to her opponent on wrestling back the momentum making it even halfway through the bout.. Her opponents experience was showing through the middle rounds but as always never write Jaki off, With two cuts sustained during the bout Jaki finished the last few rounds strong and at the end of the fight it was a close one..

The final scores were one judge 96-94 Jaki, two other judges 97-93, 97-93 Sara

So it was a close one, credit once again to you Jaki going over to Sydney fighting in your opponent’s back yard for one, also fighting your first 10 round contest in only your 4th ever boxing bout.. Chin up mate as your improving out of site so keep up the great work!

Finally a big mention has to go to Coach Carter, who did not only get Jaki in great shape as always for the bout, but the improvement in her boxing has gone from strength to strength and is all down to you mate.. we’re so lucky to have you at the gym mate and can’t commend you enough on what you do for our club! A well earned break for you too!

Well done to all 4 of the boys that fought tonight! Couldn’t be prouder of all 4 of you.. We may not of got the results we wanted but great performances by you all.
1 win and 3 losses for the team tonight!

First up was Illias in his first ever bout and kept a great work rate from start to finish landing some great punches in the 3 rounds but unfortunately lost by split decision.

Next up for us was Louis after a fair few years since his last fight.. Great boxing skills on display with this one land great counter punches throughout the bout which was a close one to score but unfortunately lost by split decision..

3rd up for us was Ryan having his first bout for the club.. amazing work rate from start to finish mixed in with the great boxing skills he’s adding to his arsenal and finished very strong landing some great combinations and too the points victory..

Then up last for us was Joel in his first bout for the year and what a great fight him and his opponent put on for the crowd.. a great back and fourth fight from the opening bell to the last bell.. Joel went down by another split decision but what a performance and can’t wait to see him fight again!

Thanks to the big turnout of supporters from the gym tonight to support the club, it is much appreciated.. lastly a bigger thank you to our awesome coaches in Coach Dan, Peter and Rinto who wasn’t there tonight but with us in spirit!

Absolute great performances by all 7 of our boxers..
We were the most successful WA club Taking 4 golds🥇1 silver 🥈and 2 bronze medals!

We have our Competition sparring masters day coming up on the 22nd June, followed by many more this year in lead up to the 2025 Masters games in Canberra next year!
