Cheltenham Girls' High School would like to express our condolences and sadness to the family, friends, and former students on the peaceful passing of Nancye J Harris yesterday at age 93. She was the 3rd Principal of Cheltenham Girls’ High School, leading from 1977 to 1987.

Nancye was a formidable leader and her contribution to the excellence of the Cheltenham Girls’ High School we enjoy today cannot be underestimated. She attended events at the school such as Presentation Day, building openings, the 60th Anniversary and other gatherings, until quite recently. Nancye contributed to the lives and careers of many young women and her impact as an educational leader are far reaching. Her memory lives on in the school.

Secondhand Uniforms sale AND Gardening Working Bee Saturday 6th April 10am-12pm

After a hugely successful secondhand uniform sale in January, the P&C will hold another sale on Saturday 6th April 10am - 12pm in the school hall. This is a great chance to get winter uniforms in preparation for Term 2.

On the same day, Saturday 6th April 10am - 12pm, we will be holding our Autumn Gardening Working Bee. Meet at the school office to fill in some volunteering paperwork then you’ll be directed to the area we are working in.

It would be wonderful if as many parents / carers could come along and help beautify the school grounds. For more information contact the P&C at [email protected]

Student leadership groups at Cheltenham Girls' High School are raising funds to support the work of the Watarrka Foundation through the raffle that can be accessed at the following link:
https://rafflelink.com.au/cghslilla2023

This non-profit organisation delivers programs that support a healthy lifestyle and education for young people from the Lilla community in Central Australia. CGHS has had a connection to Lilla for over 10 years and our students want to ensure that the school at Lilla can continue to provide for the educational needs of the children from communities in the Watarrka region.

Local artists from the Alpitye Art Studio (Alice Springs) have donated original and authentic paintings for this exciting raffle. If you wish to make an additional purchase from the studio, please enter 'Cheltenham' in your order and the studio will donate 10% of profits to our fundraiser.

We hope you'll join us in supporting this amazing organisation!
