Year 8 Elective History students visited The Sydney Opera House. Students uncovered the history of this UNESCO world heritage site – from its beginnings as a First Nations meeting place for sharing stories and celebrating connection to culture and tradition, to Utzon’s competition winning design that almost didn’t get selected! The day was filled with stories that demonstrated the power of creativity and how architect Jørn Utzon created a sculpture on Sydney Harbour that changed the course of 20th century architecture.
The DSU Cafe is now open! 🥪 ☕️
A special thank you to students in our Disability Support Unit, and their teachers, for the delicious food and beverages that they had on offer today at the Viking-themed DSU cafe. Great food and great service 👍
We continue to celebrate Bossley alumni this Public Education Week✨ Pablo Bonilla Ataides is a Bossley ex-student and Harvard graduate who solved a 20-year quantum computer problem.
When your Year 12 teacher becomes your co-worker! As mentioned on Monday, BPHS has a strong history of growing future teachers, so it’s no surprise that so many of our staff have had the opportunity to work alongside their ex-students. Here are some examples:
- Ms Sampol was Ms Dundovic’s Y12 Mathematics teacher
- Ms Lopez was Ms Mckee’s Y12 Dance teacher
- Ms Moiler was Mr Zantiras’ Y12 Hospitality teacher
- Mr Agostino was Mr Nekic’s Y12 Furniture teacher
- Mr Cunningham was Ms Soth’s Y12 Society and Culture teacher
Happy Public Education Week! ✨
✨ The Next Generation ✨
This Public Education Week, we celebrate Bossley’s history of strong community connection. We are so proud to see so many children of ex-students attending our school. Here are some students from our Year 7 cohort who have a parent (or in some cases parents) who attended Bossley.
In continuing with our celebration of Public Education Week, we’d like to acknowledge our long-term staff for their commitment to Bossley and our community. They have supported thousands of students over the years and we thank them for their dedication to public education. Here are some of our staff who have been here for 15 years or longer - do you recognise any familiar faces? 🙂
In keeping with the theme for Public Education Week, “Proud to Belong,” we would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the Breski family for the impact that they’ve had on BPHS. Ms Kerry Breski has worked at BPHS as an SLSO supporting our students for 28 years. All of her children also attended our school. Her daughter, Ms Marney Breski, has worked here as a School Administrative Officer for 15 years and Ms Tori Breski has worked as a PDHPE teacher for the last 10 years. Between them, they have given 53 years of service to our school, and we would like to thank them for their commitment to Bossley.
Public Education Week 24 celebrates this year’s theme, “Proud to Belong.” We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate Bossley alumni, noting that 22 current staff members are ex-students themselves. Some staff were absent when this photo was taken.
Here are some fun facts:
- Mr Zantiras was once Bossley’s school captain
- Ms Faul, Ms Dundovic and Ms Breski were all in the same year group
- Ms Roby was a student in Bossley’s first graduating class
- 5 ex-students are current Head Teachers on our Executive Team
- 3 are Year Advisors

Today, our Year 9 Junior Engagement students hosted Bossley Park Parkside Care Community residents in a “Christmas in July” themed arts and crafts afternoon.
Students met the residents, guided them through Christmas decoration making activities, dancing and chatting about life and journeys in life.
Our students will now focus on creating games and recreational activities for next week’s visit.
