Killara High School
Killara HS was the top comprehensive co-educational public high school in the NSW HSC 2023 and 2022. This is the official page for Killara High School.
In addition to our extensive book collection, our library also offers students the opportunity to engage in communal colouring and find-a-word activities, fostering a strong sense of unity and collaboration.
Check out the many new books on display in our library. Reading is a superpower.
Killara collaborative puzzles in the library are stronger than ever. Well done students. Many students contribute to each puzzle. Every piece makes a difference.
Today for Fun Friday Ms Saliba and the SJC held a bake sale to raise money for Lifeline. Students also got involved in the push-up challenge to win their choice of a delicious baked good. Thanks to all the students who got involved.
We had a Busking Competition on Fun Friday hosted by the Arts Council. There was a huge turnout on a gloomy day to watch our amazing talented performers. Thank you to the Arts Council, Light & Sound and Ms Berry.
An amazing experience for all students involved. Thank you Dr Sandra Krishnan for inspiring our students. Thank you for saving lives.
Our theatre was full with all students absorbing every inspiring story shared by Dr Sandra Krishnan. Dr Sandra’s key themes were about the art of failing and being courageous enough to believe, dream, plan, execute, fail, and then rinse and repeat. Students were also introduced to the work of a surgeon in removing skin cancer, and conducting laparoscopic surgery.
Associate Professor Dr Sandra Krishnan - “Today, as a surgeon, I get to operate using my hands and brain. It’s an incredible experience. Now that I’m also teaching surgery, I tell my students, I owe it to humanity to help make you the best doctor.”
Dr Krishnan will deliver an inspirational presentation in Killara Academy on Tuesday morning at 730am.
Dr Krishnan is an incredible inspiration to all and she has been a huge hit in the past with our students. You can read about Dr Krishnan’s personal journey here.

Year 8 Japanese food culture experience.
Students studying Japanese in Year 8 had a memorable Teppanyaki lunch, where they witnessed the amazing skills of the talented chefs who prepared their food. It was an interactive private dining experience as they caught items thrown by the chefs. There was a lot of laughter throughout the experience. This excursion coincides with the unit of work on food that our students are currently learning in Japanese.
