Learning - Year 12 Biology
Biology students are currently learning about human anatomy and to consolidate this they got to dissect a kidney. This was to see real life parts and relate it to the importance and pathways for organ transplants. At the moment Year 8’s are learning about body systems and so they were invited to the labs to observe the Year 12’s and learn from them. Luckily they still managed to keep their lunch down after this.
Annual Performing Arts / Newman Showcase Evening: Last night our parents and students discovered Hospitality @ HCC - with Year 11 students preparing food and our students showing all the great work achieved at school this year. Learning - 12Chemistry
Chemistry students completed a range of practicals to identify types of reactions. They made careful observations of each test and discussed results with each other, which they then used to make determinations on whether the reactions were in equilibrium or not. The observations included colour changes, compound formation, and igniting materials. Learning through investigation and collaboration!
God took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree, the warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea, the generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, the wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle’s flight, the joy of a morning in spring, the faith of a mustard seed, the patience of eternity, the depth of a family need, then God combined these qualities, when there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, and so, He called it … Dad.
Congratulations to our College Vice Captain JP Kawtal who was selected in the NRL Academic team of the year. JP is a high achiever on and off the field who wears his uniform with pride. A fine example to all our younger students on what it means to be a Holy Cross man.
