Robyn Gobbel has such compassion for how hard it can be when you're parenting a child with big bevaviours. It can be so frustrating and confusing when therapy for you child doesn't go as you expected it to. This is a great explanation and a really helpful podcast to listen to ♥

Anyone who has been talking to me lately knows that I am all about the nervous system and how to be a child's external regulator. As parents, we are human, so we sometimes will inevitably flip our lids when our kids are flipping. But it *is* possible to stay regulated when your child is overwhelmed with big feelings 💫♥️

New mindfulness /yoga groups being offered at Starr Counselling by our amazing intern, Nikki Bell!! 🙏🧘‍♂️

Nikki Bell is a Masters Level practicum student at Starr counselling. She is also a former kindergarten teacher, certified yoga teacher and is trained in trauma informed yoga. Groups will focus on age-appropriate mindfulness techniques, promoting kindness to self and others, working with the breath as a natural regulator and exploring fun and calming yoga poses.

Groups will be scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings depending on interest. Groups will be small (6 or less) and will be grouped by age. Spots available for children and teens aged 6-14.
