📸 Photo day for some of our leadership team!
Gathering our whole leadership team in one frame was like navigating a hairpin turn at full speed - we’re missing a few here, but trust us, we’re still in pole position for success! 🏎️🏁
Thank you to .q for the excellent photos!

The Beauty of the Q23, in photos 📷
THE Q23 COMES TO LIFE.
Today at Shannonville Motorsport Park, we’ve run our first shakedown of the Q23 without body panels & aerodynamic parts. ✅ The purpose of the test was to gauge the reliability of the vehicle - and we’ve had an absolute field day!
Look forward to our progress as we prepare for the competition in Michigan 🇺🇸 in a month’s time 💨
We’d like to present QR’s progress in the third quarter of the 2022-23 season! Huge thanks to our teams & our partners for making this journey possible ❤️
Welcome, class of 2022-23 🏫

Today, we pledge to continue supporting and empowering them to achieve their full potential. We are genuinely proud to be a part of a global movement towards a more equitable and inclusive world.
The center of the graphic is Caroline Kim, our former Director of Operations from 2020-2022. She has brought unbelievable change to our team and is the reason why QR is in its shape today.
Happy International Women’s Day! 🎉

Today is International Women’s Day, a day of celebration and appreciation for all the hardworking women in our lives. The recognition that comes with International Women’s Day does not only belong to female members of Queen’s Racing, rather it belongs to everyone so today, take the time to thank a woman for being in your life.
Queen’s Racing as it is today would not be possible without the incredible women of the team.
Now that we've begun designing our Q23 car, our aerodynamics department is hard at work developing our new aero package! A huge thank you to and for providing us with ANSA and Star-CCM+ to create the amazing models you see here.
Welcome to a new era. Welcome to Queen’s Racing!
We’ve updated our team's look to represent a new era of racing at
Queen’s. Over this season, we've worked tirelessly to become the best
we can be. We’ve completely reshaped our brand, and are going into
2022 with a fresh new look to represent our transition into a more
sustainable and forward-thinking team. This has been in the works for
quite some time now and we’re so excited to share our changes with all
of you! We’d like to thank all of our sponsors, supporters, and team
members for your support during this rebranding.

Queen's Formula is proud to welcome Beta-CAE USA as a new sponsor. Beta-CAE will be providing us access to their industry-leading software ANSA, META, and EPILSYS. Beta-CAE's sponsorship of ANSA will be particularly useful in the continued automation of our CFD processes by allowing for automated surface meshing, greatly improving the throughput of our aerodynamic simulations. Thank you for joining our team, and we look forward to many more seasons together!
Today, we’d like to thank our sponsor Altium! Altium’s electronic design software has allowed the team to create multiple custom PCBs, such as our BSPD and steering PCB. Many thanks to for providing us access to their Altium Designer and PDN Analyzer software and their continued support of Queen’s Formula SAE.
Queen's Formula would like to recognize one of our sponsors: Ricardo! Ricardo provides engine simulation softwares that the team uses to simulate our powertrain systems. Their package of tools (including WAVE, IGNITE, VECTIS, and HEEDS) allow us to model the performance and output of our system depending on changes in intake and exhaust geometry as well as other engine parameters. In addition, we continue to work to use the incredible power of Ricardo software to model and optimize our driveline, cooling, and fuel systems to create the best overall powertrain package possible.
Last but not least, our Operations team led by Caroline Kim!
Here’s Charlie Heinzl, and his Vehicle Dynamics team!
Next up: Powertrain, headed by Nathan Maclean-Max!
And here we have our Chassis and Ergonomics team, led by the optimistic Eric Sass.
Here is our aerodynamics team, led by Maurice Nayman!
Here’s our electrical team for the year, headed by Ryan Anderson!
Next up: our composites team led by Jack Macaulay!
To kick off, we’d like to introduce you Caroline Kim and Maurice Nyman, our co-directors for this year!
Thank you Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science - Queen's University for the feature! We are very excited to be leading needed changes at Queen's, specifically for other design teams. Our work in making automotive engineering more accessible, inclusive, and equitable has made us a stronger team.
Following a year of restructuring and rebuilding according to principles of equity and diversity, Queen's Formula — one of the best-known design teams of Queen's Engineering — is seeing strong results.

Our team is excited to share that we placed 8th out of 142 participating teams in the Business Knowledge Event of the FSAE series this year. Our Director of Engineering Carlo Rotundo and Director of Operations Caroline Kim worked hard to present how Queen's constructs a successful FSAE program.
We have two more static events coming up in April to wrap up the series, and we cannot wait to see what we can deliver!
Thank you to the Queen's University - Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and all our sponsors for sticking with us through such new times. Although we have not been able to work on our car, we are excited to get back into manufacturing and testing when it is safe to do so! *This image was taken in 2019*
Today’s the day! The Queen’s Formula team needs your help to continue giving students the opportunity to design, build, and race a race car every year. We have been providing students with an unmatchable experience for over 20 years now. Vote “YES” to keep our student opt-out fee intact
Congratulations to our faculty advisor, Dr. Heidi Ploeg for her latest appointment as the Chair for Women in Engineering. Dr. Ploeg has been instrumental in the success of our team and shifting our team’s culture towards inclusivity and diversity. We’re confident that her efforts in increasing female representation in our faculty will be visible and tangible over the next few years!
