Dear students, we have just become aware that there has been a fake email that looks like it might have been sent to you from the Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC). This email requested that you send financial information for IRCC. Emails that request for personal and financial information are referred to as “Phishing emails”. The QUIC will never collect or request for your financial information.
If you receive emails or a phone call from persons claiming to work at the University, or any government agency requesting for your personal information or transfer of funds, you must:
- End the call immediately. Do NOT respond to the email.
- If not sure what an email or message means, ask university staff, such as our advisors, first.
- Contact our advisors directly at [email protected] or visit us at the QUIC in Mitchell Hall, open Mon.-Fri. 8:30-4:30.
- Report email phishing to Queen’s ITS
If any student has been a victim of fraud, please contact us and we will help you file a report.

Our Story
Queen's University International Centre (QUIC) offers support services, activities and learning opportunities for international and internationally minded students at Queen's University, including advising, social events, volunteering and intercultural awareness training. QUIC also offers spaces to read, study, eat lunch and meet with others, with facilities such as table tennis, a kitchenette for tea/coffee, and an eating area with microwave oven for warming food. Each year, the QUIC works with 20+ student staff and with 100+ peer volunteers, providing ongoing experiential learning opportunities that foster student development.
