Exciting news! The Observer, QIAA’s international affairs journal, has published its first edition of the 2024-2025 academic year! Titled “Summer In Review: Civil Unrest,” it seeks to examine some of the instances of civil unrest that occurred over the course of the summer. Interested in US politics? Come to the QIAA’s first Speaker Series event of the year with your favourite political science professors discussing and debating the upcoming election! All students are welcome, and free food and drinks will be provided. See you on October 9th at McLaughlin Hall room 315, starting at 7 pm.

QIAA recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We honor the children who never made it home and stand with the survivors. Today acts as a reminder of the colonialism that Canada is built upon, and we at QIAA believe in the cruciality for reconciliation efforts with the Indigenous community. At QIAA, we honor National Indigenous History Month to reflect on the histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. We acknowledge that we live, work and gather on the land of the Anishinaabe and Haudenossaube people, and we recognize that these lands have been home to Indigenous peoples for thousands of years before us.

Today, on June 21, 2024, QIAA recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day. Join us as we celebrate Indigenous excellence and highlight resources and opportunities to further educate oneself.
