Another win for Queen's: Emilia Lye and Sarah Hair won the KLS-Thomson Reuters National Law Triathlon over the weekend! ๐
The event entailed a Negotiation Round, an Urgent County Court Hearing, and a Final Hearing Moot, with over 20 representative teams competing from universities throughout the UK.

The Committee is a branch of QUB Law Society, and works closely with the University's own Intervarsity Mooting Coordinator and Mooting Coach. In addition to facilitating the university's internal moots, the Committee supports the intervarsity team; assists with the provision of mooting workshops and other advocacy-related events; and promotes QUB's mooting successes via social media.

The team won against University of Law Manchester on Monday, with Justice Elizabeth Nicholls of Manchester Crown Court presiding over this away match.
The team also won against Ulster University in February, presenting excellent submissions before Lord Justice Horner.

The team placed third out of the top 8 in the preliminary rounds in March, and delivered fantastic submissions during the Quarterfinal Round in April at Southampton County Court. Thank you to the team for the time and work invested in the competition.

Congratulations to the brilliant members of the mooting team, Dariya Mariya Petryshyn and Fallon Burns, who applied their hand at competitive client consultation yesterday and won the regional heats for Northern Ireland!
We're delighted to have them represent Northern Ireland in the Netherlands at the international finals, and very grateful to The Law Society of Northern Ireland for organising the regional heats and providing their support to the team.
QUB Team Wins Client Consultation Competition 2023
Fallon Burns and Dariya-Mariya Petryshyn from the Queenโs University Belfast (QUB) were celebrating this week after winning the regional heat of the Law Society of Northern Irelandโs Client Consultation Competition 2023.
The competition, which has been successfully run by the Law Society over the last number of years, provides law students and trainees with an opportunity to test their client communication and interview skills in scenarios judged by practising and former solicitors.
The theme of this yearโs regional heat was Environmental Law and participating teams included:
Emily McGleenon and Hayley Robinson from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS)
Siobhan Moss and Jodie OโReilly from the Ulster University Magee Campus
Kaitlin McCourt and Ciara McGreevy from the Ulster University Belfast Campus
Fallon Burns and Dariya-Mariya Petryshyn from the Queenโs University Belfast
The winning QUB team will now proceed to the final of the Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition which will take place at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands on 12 to 15 April 2023.
The winning school will receive a prize of ยฃ1,000 from the Law Society towards the travel costs.

We are very proud to share that Gordon and Fallon reached the semifinals of the competition, selected as the ๐๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ฐ ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ๐ participating in the oral rounds of the competition.

The competition is focused on those who are new to the sport, so it's open to any law student who has not mooted competitively in the UK before, irrespective of degree level or path.
