Taking your time
Accepting life is always gonna have something that âinterruptsâ your goals
Riding the rollercoaster
But staying as consistent and mindful as you can
It may seem slower
But itâs actually faster
So skip the chia seed water
Or any other bo****ks for that matter

Just do the work

The support is what makes doing the work that much easier
I felt so stressed about taking time off from the gym and relaxing that I almost wasted my holiday, so I reminded myself of this
If youâre currently on holiday or enjoying some down time, just remember
Itâs okay toâŚ
- eat more than normal
- move a bit less
- feel a bit uncomfortable not doing your normal routine
- want to get back to normal
Amongst many other negative feelings, these are perfectly normal thoughts to have
Of course if itâs to the point of being obsessive and you canât detach from it
Thatâs something else entirely
But having these thoughts is okay as long as you can acknowledge them and then focus back on the present
As someone who lives with anxiety, itâs so easy to live in the future and the âwhat ifâ
This creates a disconnect and often can lead to disappointment or stress
So itâs important to recognise the reality
Ask yourself
How much will this actually impact things in the long run?
Realistically, with holidays, sick days and festivities we all probably have 10ish weeks off a year
Thatâs 42 weeks still where weâre on the ball
If you look at it from this angle
You realise you have more control
This is exactly how I refocus myself
Iâm on holiday at the moment and itâs exactly what Iâm doing as I miss my routine
But Iâm also being present about what experiences Iâm having right now
So I donât wish them away and actually enjoy the memories Iâm creating
Be gentle with yourself
Itâs something I teach all my clients
In light of me calling a certain trend bullsh** this morning
Hereâs some actually useful advice you can implement today or tomorrow so give it a save
Itâll âsnatch your waistâ if you do it long enough as well đ
But seriously
Stop focusing on eating less food
Focus on eating good quality foods
This allows you to eat a bigger volume of food
Keeps you fuller
And allows room for treats and things you enjoy
So you donât want to headbutt the wall everyday đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸
Iâm all on team eat whatever you like and make it fit your goals
But I know thereâs some ballbags out there screaming about sugar
And how living your life without sugar
And happiness is actually a better way of living đĽ˛
I mean looking good doesnât matter that much đĽ˛
But alsoâŚ
You can have a ice cream and still achieve your goals
But if youâre looking a lower calorie option
All of these are under the 150-200 calorie mark
Some even under the 100 calorie mark
So get eating on this wonderful fine and sunny day âď¸
And make sure you give it a save for when your next wanting a wee treat â¤ď¸
The flexible approach to training and nutrition is what is gonna work for you over summerâŚ
How many people give up (or feel they might as well give up) when summer hits? đđ˝ââď¸
The kids are off, youâve got to entertain them, keep em busy, stop them arguing, all while doing everything you were already doing before
Thereâs no chance in hell youâre making that 1-2-1 PT session
Or hitting 3-4 sessions in the gym
But why are you trying to force this when you can use my spectrum method?
My spectrum method is simple.
You have your best and worst days at either end.
What you can/canât do in both these scenarios
I then plan training and nutritional strategies you can use based on which area of the spectrum youâre on
Normally youâve got the time to track calories and protein
But now?
Why not try hand portion sizing to keep portions in check
Still too much?
Simple photo diary with one nutritional goal e.g. 4-7 fruit and veg
If you can have multiple options for keeping your training and nutrition in check
Youâll have a 100% success rate
Cuz you never gave up.
Thatâs the only way you donât make progress
I did this with my client Gemma recently as sheâs been struggling with low energy due to a medical condition
We kept her moving using lower intensity methods
So she didnât feel like she was failing
And thatâs all it needs to be
But thatâs also why I think you need support

You deserve it!
But then you get back and that guilt hits you like a bat in the faceâŚ

Then you spiral
Convinced your fat
Wondering how youâre gonna make up for it
Gonna cut the calories, for for 2 walks a day
And punish yourself In the gym to top it off

The only way itâll be fat is if you give up and think whatâs the point
But I understand that can be hard
