Mental Health Awareness Week 13 - 19 May
In collaboration with Cath Ashby, Pain Concern provides a free online 'Mindfulness Course' to support people with chronic pain. During the course, the participants will have access to different practices to help them build new habits where mindfulness is a part of their lives.

Join our free 8-week online Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC) for people living in Scotland with pain and their carers. This is being run as a joint venture by Pain Concern and Cath Ashby our mindfulness teacher.
Each 2-hour weekly session includes tools and techniques to use in daily life which can help us be more present, deal with lifeβs challenges and to grow qualities such as self-acceptance. There will be time to share experiences, if you wish to, and feel part of a supportive community. Everyone is welcome!

Having chronic neuropathic pain for over 15 years has been tough but I have found ways to live with it through mindfulness practice and lifestyle choices. The support I am given by my partner, family, friends and colleagues makes a huge difference.
This short video is a good introduction and helps hidden disabilities and illnesses become more visible.

Course is for anyone age 18+ experiencing pain, or people who care for those with pain, in Scotland.
It feels like I'm coming full circle as I did my first 8 week course through an NHS pain clinic over 13 years ago and it has really helped me navigate the difficulties that living with chronic pain can bring.
